Termas Geometricas

Wow, this is what the thermal baths are supposed to be. Geometricas (pronounced Hey-O-Meh-Tree-Kas) uses its surroundings better than any of the thermal spas I've seen. It's built right in the middle of a small canyon/gorge. The path runs through the middle with 20-or-so stone baths along the sides. We went in April and there was a light snow. It... more

This hotel is fine for a day, maybe two, but there are better places in town. The room was fine, kind of small, the view was nice, but the place is a little dark and dingy and in need of an upgrade. The food was ok, nothing great, and the service was fine. It's a large place, seems to be... more

I had a perfectly good stay at the Bellavista. No problems at all, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The room wasn't anything incredible, it's was a little small, but the bed was comfortable, the room was clean with a nice view of the water. The bathroom was fine, clean and functional. I did not experience any of the... more

O'Grimm Hotel

O’Grimm’s is rated as Four Star which is pushing it. Rooms are clean and comfortable but décor is a bit old. Restaurant and bar is good and the food was ok. What made this hotel successful was the staff; they are professional and very responsive. I would stay at this hotel again. more

Hotel Puelche

Jul 25, 2008

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our trip (we joined the Navimag south, and drove back through Chile and Argentina). And another night at the end of the trip It is a much better bet than staying in Puerto Montt. The hotel has astounding views across the lake and to the snowcapped volcanoes in the distance... more

Excellent location right in front of Villarica lake. Wonderful lake view. Very large room, clean, nicely maintained. Wonderful breakfast. Indoor pool was a little bit old, needs a refresh soon! Attendants could also be more attentious. Offers good services (tour office inside, gym, etc) and is incredibly close to the main streets in city center. Would definitely come back. more

If you dislike comfortable beds, good thick pillows, clean linen, warm ida downs, good bathrooms (with 24hr hot water and good pressure), becoming friends with the owner’s family, a view of Mt. Villarrica, and the tranquillity of being 50 metres from the lakes edge; then I suggest you stay someplace else. Yes there are more expensive hotels around the corner,... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hosteria de la Colina for 4 days in January. What an incredible place. The owners, Glen and Beverly, are warm and friendly and truly make you feel at home in this extremely cozy, clean and well-maintained hosteria. We have travelled a fair bit and never have we come across more personalized or better... more

If you want to rent a bike in Puerto Varas, this is the best place in town. Nice Giant bikes, with all the safety kit and the price really cheap. And the guys in the office gives you a map and everybody speaks english. more

Everything was very good, cozy rooms, great breakfast, excellent location, that for sure. Very helpful as far as how to get around town and places to visit and agencies to go with for the volcano climbing, national park hiking and horse back riding. I'll say this place is the best Lodge/hostel in Pucon. more

Just came back from an excellent one day trip to Chiloe to see the wooden churches, Sunday market and general sights on the island. It was low season so had difficulty getting a tour but landed on our feet with Ernesto from La Comarca Puelo Adventure. He offered us a private tour (he told us the highlights but we could... more

Gran Hotel Vicente Costanera

Stayed here for one night after a missed flight connection. We were sold a deluxe room overlooking the bay, which definitely needed an update. It was large and the view of the waterfront below was pleasant. We ate in the restaurant, which was satisfactory and breakfast in the morning was a substantial buffet. The bar was a fun place to... more

The Melia Hotel chain must send their employees to the school of "NO," no matter how small your request. The desk staff in their hotels I've visited always have a very "snotty" attitude. I'll never make the same mistake again. I forgot that the Melia Hotel in Cancun sent me to their "sister" hotel ("sister" hotel normally equates to a... more
