Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson

5 of 5 stars
baltimore, maryland
Aug 12, 2008

My family stayed in two adjacent rooms on a vacation to Manhattan. We received a great rate through Priceline. The hotel is beautiful, with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. The rooms were spacious (especially by metro NY standards) and very clean. Each room has a small refrigerator. Service was excellent. The woman who checked us in accomodated our desire... more

Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson

With hotels, you never really get to experience customer service until you have a problem. We stayed several times at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City and never had any problem. During our last stay, mid-July, a brand new suit my wife had bought got stolen from the closet (be careful, we had left the bag from the store by... more

Confucius Asian Bistro

Aug 9, 2008

This pan-Asian restaurant is situasted in the heart of Newport in JC. It offers a pan-Asian nouvelle menu with generous portions, attractively presented and - most importantly- well executed dishes. The staff is attewntive and friendly. A plus is the partking in garage next door and then taking a stroll along the adjacent waterfron to top off a delightful evening. more

The reviews below are spot on. The hotel has a great views of New York City and also the Statue of Liberty. Everyone at the Hyatt is very friendly. Take the PATH Train into the World Trade Center and the E Subway Train to 42nd Street. One negative: parking is not cheap. $32/day for valet. Looking for a great meal... more

Holland Motor Lodge

Nothing in the other reviews left me prepared for the Holland Motor Lodge. First, it's really at the mouth of the Holland Tunnel, so you must take on faith that you can to exit into the parking lot at the far right side of the tunnel entrance. Second, the lobby is like a bank branch in a dangerous neighborhood, but... more

The people who worked knew nothing. the hotel was disgusting. Food was decent, not great. Would of been nice to have chips & salsa. We asked if we could buy a fried corn tortilla for my picky son (he is 8 & dislikes Mexican food). I told her my son was hungry & since they had no chips, a taco shell would tide him over. Owner just flat out said... more

The Embankment

The service was very lacking and horrible on a day that was not busy at all. The waiter messed up the drink order and I declined to order a drink. The drink still appeared on the bill after the meal and I never even ordered a drink. When the food came the steak was undercooked and was taken back to... more

Bertucci's Brick Oven Restaurant

If you like Italian food, and don't always require gourmet expensive restaurants, please give this establishment a try. I saw it was not even on the Jersey City TripAdvisor Listing, and believe it should be near the top! I am calling this restaurant excellent as in 'Pizzeria Plus' excellent. It may be bypassed by most business-people because it is a... more

Ramada Limited Jersey City

Just got back from our first trip to NYC having stayed at the Ramada Limited in Jersey City. Our room was very clean and we could tell we had good maid service each day. I am surprised by other reviewers mentioning holes in walls, bugs, stains in bedspreads, dirty smells. We saw none of that. The staff was very courteous.... more

We stayed there during our stay in New York. It was an okay hotel, clean and the room was big. The restroom was small but clean. We was given a room behind the elevator, and we were worried about noice from the elevator, but we didn't hear it at all. The hotel was quiet, we could sometimes hear noice from... more

The location of this hotel is fantastic. The views of Manhattan are spectacular. It almost feels like you can touch the buildings on the other side of the Hudson. The PATH train, which is a one stop ride into Manhattan, is literally steps from the front door of the hotel. The ferry which gets you into lower Manhattan in five... more

First of all, the hotel was located in a very very bad neighbourhood. Dingy hotel that really is in need of renovations. The room has a very bad musky moldy smell to them that became really bothersome when you try to sleep. Let's not forget to mention how dirty the room was when we first entered it. The maid service... more

It was our first time visiting NYC and after doing some research we knew we wanted to actually stay in New Jersey to be able to see the city skyline at night, this hotel was perfect! I stayed at the Hyatt in Jersey City for 2 nights with my 16 year old son. The convenience to Manhattan, particularly lower Manhattan, is fantastic. The PATH train is located steps from the hotel. Doubletree Club Jersey City

We were impressed with location and ease of parking, although there was an extra charge for that. Our room was clean and well-furnished. The halls were a bit tired, but I liked the fact that you had to use your hotel keycard to make the elevators move. That gave a nice sense of security in an urban environment .....although the... more
