This hotel was really nice! Even the public restrooms were spotless! Front desk was very helpful along with every one else in the hotel. It has a shuttle bus that will take you to the subway and pick you up also until11pm. The rooms were very nice and spacious, with a plasma tv and comfy beds! If you dont want... more

We used this hotel as a base to see the sights in NYC. Easy access to subway...several good neighborhood restaurants...room was clean and quiet...I'd avoid the takeout Chinese place which sticks a menu under your door each night. Definitely would stay here again. more

Stayed in this hotel beginning of September for four nights and paid about £230 in total which was a cracking deal considering how much Manhattan hotels were charging at the time. For the money we paid for the room I think it was excellent value, the room was clean, and sheets and towels were always fresh. The main advantage as... more

This hotel is an affordable choice for New York City. It is clean, relatively new and the rooms are large by New York City Standards (average by National standards). Prices for this hotel range from $100-200 night depending on the dates. It has only 100 rooms so book early. We paid $152 a night with a AAA discount for a... more

This hotel is only a couple of months old. Stayed here when we helped my sister in law move from Manhattan to Boston because it was close to the Penske truck pick-up location in Queens (and it wasn't too expensive). Great pick up service (with friendly drivers) from subway 37th-Rawson until 11pm and then only 10 minutes into the city.... more

We stayed at La Quinta for 3 nights while visiting the city, and the biggest positive about this hotel is that it is PERFECTLY situated to get you in and out of Manhattan quickly. The hotel is 3 blocks in both directions from stops on the #7 local line (not express!), which is 12 minutes to Grand Central. It's also... more

We stayed there for a longer term and and were very pleased about the clean status of the room and its interior. Everything is pretty new and almost not used. The location ist in a not very pleasent neighborhood but the connection to Manhatten by train (Queens Plaza) is just fabolous. There very negative points as well. First they gave... more

Booking here saved my family £300.00 per head compared to comparable hotels in the centre, but book the La Guardia airport because a taxi from Newark will cost £50.00 each way. The staff were friendly though their command of English was slightly poor. Ali was very helpful in arranging a taxi for our return to the airport. The rooms were... more

If you are looking to save a little money, this is a great hotel. I paid $250 a night, which was about $150 less than what I could find in Manhattan. The hotel room was great. Plenty of space and recently renovated. Very high quality rooms. Very easy access to the city via subway. However, the area is a little... more

I found this hotel on hotels.com and booked this kind of last minute, I was very pleased with this hotel. I was travelling with my girlfriend and we found the room to be clean and ok for what we needed - a 'no-frills' base by which we could reach Manhattan. The 33rd/Rawson train stop (7 train) could not be closer,... more

My 24 year old daughter and I stayed at Clarion -Long Island City from Sept. 14th to 17th, 2008. We could not be more pleased with our stay at a suite with a very comfortable sofa bed in the living room and a great King size bed in the bed room. High quality linens, including robes. Wow! Where to begin...this hotel was great! We arrived 3 hours before check-in, fully expecting the room to not be ready but much to our surprise we were checked into our room w/ no hesitation. This hotel is perfect to see the city and save some money compared to Manhattan rates. Easy subway trip to the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice, but one man was not helpful and doesn't know anything about anything so hopefully you won't have to ask him anything. Breakfast was good, but I like... more

Hubby and I were in town for a week and needed a place to crash. Our first problem was that we had decided to drive, so we needed a place with FREE parking available. Also, we had lots of meetings over lunches and dinners, so we were constantly straining our pockets on meals. AMENITIES: This place has free parking AND... more

The hotel is close to the 40th Street-Lowery Street Subway station, and approximately 50 minutes away from JFK airport by Subway/AirTrain. The 7-line brings you straight to Times Square, which is great ! The neighborhood also seems safe. The room was clean, with a large bed, fridge, TV, ironing board, and instant coffee. The bathroom also had quality shower gel... more

Just a confirmation on all previous posts. Breakfast is stale donuts and bagels. Dry cereal gets ground up coming out of the machine they use to dispense it which is good since the only way to eat it is with tiny teaspoons. OJ is terrible, but the apple juice is OK. Coffe is the only good part of breakfast they... more

I'm a native Queens gal who makes frequent visits home. I used to regularly stay at the Red Roof in Manhattan, but after two successful stays at this La Quinta (July 2008 and November 2007), I'll probably be switching loyalties from now on. It offers pretty much all the same amenities as the Red Roof, but at a cheaper rate.... more
