We did the tour on 26 August 2008. Our guide - Fred- was excellent at 'Setting-the-scene' both in the Old Town and the cemetary. A little 'Poetic Licence' with historical 'facts' can be forgiven as it all adds to a scarily entertaining experience. Don't expect to come away with a sound understanding of Edinburgh's fine history, rather enjoy the way... more

Did this tour last week and it was great fun! Our Tour guide Fiona was brilliant and made the tour interesting and told us a few little known facts about greyfriers like the truth behind ''Bobby'', i wont ruin it for you so do the tour to find out :o) one little thing that did come out is after researching... more

I can´t believe that the other critics are about the same tour ! We were a group of ten people and ALL were very disappeared - it was only silly , uninteresting and boring. A few years ago I made a tour with the cadies/witchery tours and this one was great , so I had great expactations because also of... more

I have done all of Edinburghs ghost tours during two visits within a year. City of the Dead is by far the best!! Take the lastest tour possible, it is scary to walk through the cemetary at night. During my first time visiting Edinburgh, we took the tour our very first night there. I have to admit, the man who... more

My husband and I went on this tour in May 2008. I think some changes must have been made to this tour - our tour group size was small (25-30 people) and no one jumped out to scare us at the end of the tour like previous posters have experienced. The setting is very scary (no one needs to jump... more

Last summer I went on a similar tour in Victoria, Canada, my hometown and had a very interesting experience so when I saw that this tour was supposed to be even spookier I was intrigued. It was all very well done and gave me the shivers a few times but the spook at the end RUINED it for me. I... more

Went on this tour on a Saturday evening at 7.30pm. The tour guide Rosie was great and told the various stories well but I feel the experience was ruined by the number of people who took the tour. I reckon there were around 75 people to just one tour guide. In my experience of similar tours there is a limit... more

Must have chosen one of the coldest nights to go on tour but it only added to the atmosphere of the evening! Tour guide was great and I dragged my husband along who is the worlds best non believer! Loved the graveyard experience and was gripping on to my hubby whilst standing in the very scary mauseleum. Afterwards once outside... more

Now, it must be said I was not happy to be dragged on ghost tour after ghost tour of the fair city of Edinburgh by my overly excitable and ghost obsessive friend, Louise. When she suggested City of the Dead after a day of the Vaults *Yawn*, Mary Kings Close *Cool enough but Yawn*, and the Castle *would have enjoyed... more
