As some others have written, this place is terrible. At times the beach is covered with smelly dried up seaweed made even worse by low tide. The friendly Mainers walking the beach may only smile and say hello. A place like this should be left to only those who know how to enjoy such treasures. More is not always better. more

This beach is little known--so, you can always find a place to spend the day. It has a snack bar, a lighthouse that you can walk out to and a beautiful point where you can see the islands of casco bay--truly a gem in the rough. more

Willard Beach is not a great beach for swimming. The water is frigid! It is a beautiful scenic spot. The view of the harbor traffic and islands is wonderful. Free admission and good parking makes it a great picnic spot. more

The beach is ok to get some sun at and some quiet time. But the water is rocky and half the time is too dirty to swim in (they told us that many times this past winter) too many cig butts in sand...not very kid friendly! more
