We were booked into the Akasaka Excel by our tour company and were not sure what to expect. We were very surprised. The hotel bedrooms are being remodelled and this will go on into 2009, so there is some building noise on some floors between 10am and 4pm. We had a double room on the 4th floor that had been... more

My colleague and myself stayed at this hotel for two nights on a business trip. Luckily we have been to Tokyo before and stayed at one of the Marriott chain hotels and it was lovely. This review and my stay at the Akasaka Excel Hotel will not deter me from traveling to Tokyo anymore, but it has forced me to... more

I stayed 3 nights in Tokyo and was on business trip. Rooms were very small as usual in Tokyo so it was not very disappointing. Good location from the subway, I do not really remember the name of the station. Across the street, there are many restaurants and there is dennys right next to the hotel and also the Mac... more

I chose this hotel more for the price than anything, as Tokyo hotels can run quite high. The location turned out to be an excellent one, just across from Akasaka-Mitsuke station making it very easy to get to the popular areas in Tokyo without any hassle. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms have blackout shades; they certainly... more

The hotel has very small rooms, I was told this is the case in any Tokyo hotel. TV has not much to offer, I discovered only one English channel, CNN. Good Internet/broadband connection, complimentary. Overall setting a bit worn out, clean but not shining. Reception staff very efficient, checking in/out does not take them more than a few minutes. Breakfast... more

Simply put, this is not an International Hotel. It is clean and the staff efficient but this is Tokyo remember where even the taxi drivers salute you. And if you are over 1.80m tall and slightly wider than a size zero model, forget it, you won't fit in the bath room. Even if this Hotel looks like a good deal... more

We are a family of four and stayed at the Akasaka Excel in April 2007. Although the rooms are very small (there was just enough room for three beds and a cot) they were clean and we were very comfortable. The beds were great - husband is nearly six foot and he was fine. I slept like a baby (loved... more

Went on a trek to Japan with a large group (120 people), and stayed at the hotel for ~3 days. The facilities were fairly moderate, but the location (directly across the street from Asakasa Mitsuke station) was very convenient as was the 7-11 attached to the hotel. more

I stayed at this hotel in late December 2006. The hotel was in a great location - across the street from the Akasaka-mitsuke Tokyo Metro underground subway station which made it very easy to get around town. If coming from Narita take the N'EX or Narita Express train (1 hour 4 minutes for about 3,000 yen) don't take the "limousine"... more

Myself and my partner travelled to Tokyo in June feeling quite scared about the hustle and bustle and different culture in Japan. However we need not have bothered. The Excel Akasaka was brilliant. We travelled there from narita airport on the Limosine bus (£15 each for an air conditioned 2 hour tour of Tokyo) which left the airport every 20... more
