Overall our stay in Puerta Plata was enjoyable. It wasn't until we got home and discovered that our every single one of our credit cards had been copied, and that the thieves had run up over $800 in charges that we really began to reflect back on everything. Knowing that we were in another country we were VERY careful to... more

We went to Puerto Plata Village for our anniversary with our children, 30 years anniversary. The place was nice but the rooms at the entrance, we were told not to go walk there, because they were all Dominicans in that section and don't like tourist on their section. Then later in the week, one evening we were watching the show,... more

We have stayed at this hotel twice now and have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly, helpful and multilingual. On our second stay, our room was automatically upgraded. The entertainment staff are also friendly, if slightly amateurish - but that just adds to the charm. A local dive school has a sales desk by the pool and also handles... more

Had a fantastic time. I was there from March 4 to 18, 2008. I spent my first week in a small town and then ended up at the resort from my taxi driver. Everyone was so friendly. From the staff at the front desk (Julio) to the bartenders (Ambiorix). Food was good and rooms were great. Will be going back... more

My sister Janette and I stayed at PPV between Feb 8 to 15th 2008. Because of the price ($730CDN) I was a little skepticle about this resort but am happy to say that I had no reason to be. We had a wonderful time with no complaints at all. Our room had a balcony (which I would totally recommend) and... more
