I just came back from a trip to La Tambora and must say the hotel was great and the service was even better. Since there weren't a lot of guests, we had the grounds pretty much at our disposal. Arrived at La Tambora on 26th June 2008, after a 9 hour flight from uk and a 2 hour journey by bus. Place looked lovely when I arrived. Went to book in and was told I was only guest and that they were going to be closing in 4 days time due to lack of guests...Had to go and try... more

I stayed at this hotel during a tour with Motocaribe, a motorcycle touring company (www.motocaribe.com). The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. The room I had came equipped with a kitchenette, which was stocked with bottled water constantly. The beach is private and delicious. Some nice waves for body surfing, and there is also a pool.
