I thank all of you for your reviews. I was very thankful that I listened to you all instead of my travel agent, Raul, from Security Travel. He did everything in his power to get me to upgrade to a more expensive hotel, going so far as to call the Bell Channel Inn a "fleabag hotel" and telling me that... more

The staff is very friendly, they give a briefing when you first arrive to acquaint you with the hotel and the Port Lucaya area. It is about a 15 minute walk to Port Lucaya Marketplace, or you can take the "bus" (really just a van) for only $1 per person. It's not an upscale hotel, but you're not paying for... more

Can walk over to Port Lucaya shops within 10 - 15 minutes, go to the ATM at the Sheraton which gives American dollars without any service fee. Or for $1 can take the taxi-bus - if not past 7:45 PM. The restaurant is small but very cozy with good view and food. The room was smaller than pictured but was... more

My wife and I just returned from a 4 day 3 night trip to Freeport Bahamas and we stayed at the Bell Channel. We had no idea what to expect from this facility or the Bahamas in general and were pleasantly surprised by how incredibly helpful the staff was. Within minutes of arriving we received a 20 minute talk about... more

At first let me say the customs, immigration was a breeze in Freeport! I went to Freeport a day early as we were leaving on a 5 day diving excursion the next morning. Our original reservations were useless as the hotel we were supposed to stay at was closed for renovations and they failed to move us over to the... more

The Bell Channel Inn is a perfectly fine 2-star hotel located on the other side of the channel/bay/marina from, say, the Marketplace and the Sheraton/Westin Our Lucaya and the Pelican Bay hotels. Those hotels are right next to the Marketplace, and the Bell Channel is about a 15-minute walk or 2-minute minivan (the local bus) ride ($1 each way) around... more

this hotel was much better than we expected for a 2 star. The location was great overlooking the channel and with port lucaya only ten minutes walk and visible from your balcony it was both in a quiet location yet accessible. The rooms were very clean and most of the staff were very friendly once you got used to their... more

I had low expectations for the Bell Channel Inn but after arriving and seeing the room I was pleasently surprised. The Staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. My days were so packed that I only used the room to sleep. Jeanie is Wonderful! She is great at accomidating vegetarians as long as you let... more

I would have to disagree with some of the reviews. I stayed at the bell channel for 4 days/ 3 nights, and I found it to be what I was expecting. It is no 4 or 5 star hotel, but it has all the ammenities that one would have. Genie was very nice and had certain expectations of us, but... more

I thought that this Inn was a bargain for the price...at first! This is a tourist trap! Even though you are within walking distance of Port Lucaya...don't let that entice you. This is a HOT PINK DUMP! When we got there they were airing the room out. It smelled like dead fish! The beds were not comfortable at all! They... more
