Spent 5 nights at this hotel while visiting a GDL company location. This hotel is not located in downtown GDL but is about a 10 minute cab ride. We arrived during the off season to try & book a room here on the recommendation of a friend living in the area. We travel to Guadalajara periodically for shopping, restaurants and to attend performances of the Jalisco Filharmonica. We chose the Fiesta Americana because we wanted a nice hotel in a good location, not too far from downtown (but not right downtown) and within walking distance of some good restaurants. The neighborhood is safe and short cab ride or walking distance to many good restaurants, movie theater(english w/spanish subtitles),shopping mall. I stayed at the Fiesta Americana a few years ago with my wife and two kids (ages 4 & 5), The hotel was pretty "corporate", it felt simalr to a Hilton in the US. Overall, it worked out fine, but was not terribly exciting. more
