We stayed at Paraiso from Feb 27 thru March 3, after shopping around the entire area, and actually staying at another place for a night. The Hotel had been renovated since it's last owner back on april, 2006... I foud new mattress, nicely painted , cleaned rooms... I staryed there two years ago and I was amazed at the change... The restaurant (Nuddy Beach club) is no longer part of the hotel... so guest have courtasey chairs but not for the beach beds... so expect... more

We stayed at Zamas down the road and went to El Paraiso every day to sit on their beach. The beach is outstanding at Paraiso and the beach bar is also really nice...good food and drinks and moderate prices. They do charge you $2.50 a person to use their beach chairs, though. Paraiso was dammaged by Wilma but is recovering very well. We were staying in Playa Del Carmen and went there for a day on the beach. It is a beautiful place. The beach is long and water shallow.
