My flight to Halifax arrived late and so it was around 1 a.m. when I arrived at the hotel. It was raining and the property was dark. I went up to the door and a guard came up behind me to see why I was there. It seems the hotel is closed and gutted. It is to become a Holiday... more

For the past three Christmas seasons, we have stayed at the Howard Johnson, and I must say we were very happy with our experience. In Truro, there are few, if any hotels open for out-of-towners who prefer not imposing on relatives over the holiday season. The Howard Johnson proves to be most accommodating in that respect. The staff has always... more

OK hotel, beds hard. Pool nice but small. Hotel wearing in apperance but they are trying to get it back cause theres a lot of constroction going on there. I had room 132, had a drive up door and it was good, but a little small. Will try the Best Western the next time in Truro. more

Stayed here one night. Back of hotel looks out onto parking lot and old derelict looking building. Hotel very dated. Friendly and accommodating staff. Beds in room very uncomfortable. Rooms clean. No elevators in this hotel. About 4 steps down from lobby to main floor. Breakfast room. more

My family of four stayed at this hotel from September 28-30 after the Best Western gave our room to someone else. After seeing the reviews from other travelers, we were not expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was a good size except for the bathroom. The sink is in a separate area. The TV offered quite a... more

This place is okay if you can get a cheap rate. The pool was good, but the recreation area it was in was an enormous, dismal, empty and unfinished room and the hot tub was covered by planks of wood or something (if that was the hot tub). We happened to see a brochure with a picture of the hot... more

Very disappointing hotel, needs a great deal of modernisation, bathrooms very old and shabby, pool itself was fine but surroundings leave a bit to be desired. Restaurant was awful. more

Stayed in hotel 2 different nights this past week. 1st night was OK until 2 AM in morning. Other guest in lobby & outdoors making lot of noise. Called desk to complain & nothing was done. Returned later that week & was put on 3rd floor. We were advised that they did not have an elevator. If you are traveling... more

The staff at the hotel were very accomodating. The room was a good size and clean. The TV was huge with a good selection of cable. The pools were clean and well maintained. The hotel was very well priced for its ammenities. Would I stay here again...YES more
