Situated in a slightly downmarket location but handy for the centre and most tourist attractions, this hotel has been recently renovated and feels fresh and clean. The bedrooms are spread over four floors (there is an efficient lift). Our room was on the fourth floor and was disappointing by virtue of a large wooden joist from floor to ceiling which... more

This place is a very good option for accommodation when visiting Strasbourg. First of all the location is very close to all main sites you may want to visit in the centre, to shops and to lots of Strabourgs' restaurants. At least in the evening and on weekends it's not too hard to find parking in one of the streets... more

This was an excellent place to stay. The hotel had been recently refurbished (new paint & carpets etc). It was very central to everything in Strasbourg including the train station and the hotel staff were very friendly and obliging. I would definitely recomend this hotel to anyone travelling to Strasbourg. more

The hotel is very well situated, easily within walking distance from the main train station, which is helpful if you arrive from say Paris or CDG via the TGV and have luggage with you. The area is not the most salubrious but otherwise safe. The hotel offers free Internet only in the lobby (only 1 terminal) and you have to... more

Let me start with the obvious: spotlessly clean & helpful staff & nearing a complete renovation. Only 2-3 blocks from the badly-in-need-of-being-renovated rail station, in a fairly typical rail station location area. However, in the opposite direction it is only an enjoyable 10 minute stroll through an upscale shopping area, to the center of the old city. And the Hertz... more

This was a nice hotel, well located from the train station and town. Rooms were good with a huge bed and free internet in the lobby. Had a small balcony overlooking the street. If you like cappucino, go to Cafe Leffe, across from the train station, next to McDonalds. They serve it with real whipping cream. The best on our... more

Mercure Strasbourg Centre is near the railway station, a place not always frequented by the most classy public. The hotel recommends and offers a rebate on the Place de la Gare car park, but our car got broken into and some luggage -- fortunately no valuables -- stolen. The other disappointment was the bathroom. The bath was built under a... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in February or March 2001. Mercure is an international European chain similar to a Best Western or Quality Inn in the US. There are several Mercure hotels in Strasbourg alone. This one is a stone's throw from the train station and is a short distance outside the river that runs around central Strasbourg. Similar... more

This Mercure is different to the usual concrete monsters of international hotel chains. Located at one of the 5 arms of river Ill, in a road leading from the railway station to the old town, it offers value for money accomodation. (Avoid old town hotels - your car might be trapped there by traffic regulations during daytime.) Reasonable parking rates... more
