Keep looking! On the surface Hotel Rivoli looks decent both inside and out. Remember the old adage don't judge a book by it's cover? It definitely apply's to Rivoli! The hotel is poorly finished! It looks like a recent but poorly done remodel. On our return trip we were routed through a $30.00 per night hotel in Las Vegas that... more

We should have been suspicious of the Rivoli from the start as it's very reasonalby priced. We just put that down to it being in a very quiet, working class area of Munich... but there's more to it than that. From the minute we entered the hotel, we were a bit surprised to be honest. Clearly anything can pass for... more

Why stay anywhere else in Munich? The Hotel Rivoli is great. It is about a one-minute walk from the Harras metro stop, which is about 3-5 minutes from the main HBF train station. You can be anywhere you want in short order, utilizing that metro. Best part… a Eurail pass works on the metro. The hotel Rivoli deserves its 3-star... more

Got a great deal on Expedia a little less than 100USD and stayed here one night in May. If I had paid full fare I would have been very disappointed THE BAD : * Smoking room - Asked for a non-smoking room and was given a room on a smoking floor and which was previously a SMOKING room. So when... more

My husband and I stayed here over the New Years holiday and we had a great time! The staff is friendly and speak great English. They have a nice casual bar area. I have no complaints about this hotel which is super close to Harras underground station. Try the Thai restaurant two doors up at their sister hotel the Clarion... more

For a 3-star hotel in a major European city this was not a disappointment. Lobby while small was clean & stylish, with access to hotel bar and restaurant. Staff were friendly and spoke English comfortably. Best of all though was the room - huge, with suite furniture, mini-kitchenette and a bathroom with deeeep bathtub and towel warmers. Breakfast was included... more

I stayed at this hotel in May 2007 on a Cosmo tour. The location is excellent. The metro is down the block, and it's only 3 stations from Marienplatz. I got a single room, so it was a bit small, but ok. My queen size bed was against a wall. The bed & bedding are very comfortable and the room... more

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while enjoying our first visit to Munich. The room was clean and nicely decorated (despite one painting that while artistic you may not want to show your children :) ) Everything seemed relatively new I think it was renewed a couple of years ago. We had breakfast everyday which was good with... more

We were put in a small apartment a few metres away from the main hotel. This involved a very small lift in a residential apartment area. The rooms were quite large with a lounge area and kitchenette but the decor and the feel of the rooms were dingy. Breakfast room is tiny and food was average. Location of hotel was... more

As part of a poorly planned trip through American Express, we were booked at the Hotel Rivoli in Munich for three nights. The location was acceptable with the transportation facilities. We arrived and were taken to a large two room suite with 1950's colors and furniture. The building was converting to apartments. The staff was great but the building was... more
