I've stayed in Madrid many times and love the city and have always stayed in Hostels before. They're basically just spare rooms in people's city centre homes and I've always found the others I've stayed in to be clean and tidy.... more

The hotel is centrally located to everything a tourist would want to do. I was there from 5/27 to 5/31 in room 17. The rooms are bare and basic, but I was only there to sleep. Paying $66 a night, the conversion from Euros, was great! I had no problems at all, and all the staff were chill and friendly.... more

The location right off the Puerta Del Sol is fantastic. The subway is mere steps away, and a great department store/supermarket, El Corte Ingles, is similarly close. First of all this 5th class hole is not gay at all, the guy who ran the place had an attitude and he was actually lecturing us about not making noise, the beds are hard as a stone, it is a place i will not recommend to my worst enemy, this year i found a hotel in the same area... more

The Hostel Puerta Del Sol was incredible, though if you're looking for a cheap "youth hostel", this probably isn't your best bet (though you can get a bit of a discount if booking through their personal site).
