Sometimes you get to places where you meet an inviting dog, a friendly cat, a beautifull house, a big bed that makes you rest actually, a friendly face in the morning full of funny comments, pancakes and so much warmth... it just keeps giving you all these good memories. I stayed with my boyfriend in Rick and Digas lovely, big and homey house in may, and we have never been so pleased with our choice of accomodation before. You are always a little wary about going into other people's houses, but this was a genuine pleasure. The house is large and spacious, as was the room. We had a lovely stay here with 'Granny' (or so our taxi driver called her!) as Diga and Ric were away. We stayed at Homestay in February of 2008. We enjoyed the accommdations; huge room, warm floors, laundry and internet. The delicious breakfasts were huge, even without pancakes (the third course, or fourth, if you have cereal). Everything was very clean and we had four cats to keep us company. Just returned from a trip around the Baltics and although all the accommodation was much better than we expected, Homestay really stood out for the hospitality of Ric & Diga and the wonderful house. We found the 20-30 minute tram journey into central Riga to be easy and cheap and it was good to be in such a peaceful location... more
