We recently - August 2008 - spent 3 nights at the Corozal Bay Inn. We had a nice time and really enjoyed the location - close to town, Chetumal and right on the Bay. For the price, under $60USD, you can't beat CBI. I have seen a couple of complaints on this forum and am very suprised by what was... more

If we had read/believed the reviews we would have passed on the Corozol Bay Inn - but thank god we are advertureous, as this place was simply cozy and great - The service was above average and the price per unit - less than $60 for a large cabana, large shower, etc. was great. The restaurant served very good food... more

I vacationed for over a week (last week of January) at the Corozal Bay Resort. The owners mention to guests to make reports, favorable or not on different websites such as this one and TripAdvisor as someone has been giving them bad press. From what we heard snooping around at the other hotels (pretending to be looking for a hotel... more

This place was a big rip off for us in a number of ways: 1) We were victimized by false and misleading advertisiing both on the internet and in travel magazines. 2) We were overcharged by about 50 percent as compared with other comparable places in and around the town. 3) The place was dirty and rundown. 4) There was... more

Too expensive for what you get. Be careful the owners will try to charge you twice...I ran a tab at the bar to be paid when I checked out and 2 of my friends paid cash for drinks and a cigar....the next day they tried to make my friends pay again for the drinks and cigar. There was a long... more

Although the room was clean the overall apperence of this place and the room lack a lot to be desire. Forget about the pool. It's more like a science experiement. There is not beach to speak of and the staff and owners are not friendly at all. There many other places around town cheaper and in better conditions than this... more

We stayed here for 3 days for my daughter's wedding. It is an absolutely terrible place for anyone to visit. The rooms were dirty, swimming pool was, to me, not swimmable because of the dirty water, the beach and river were cluttered with cans, bottles, etc., we also picked up broken glass around the swimming pool. The rooms were full... more

The thatched air-conditioned rooms were great, but the owners were a grand burden to bear. They seemed to have no idea on what was going on and constantly caused problems for my friends who were having their wedding there. The bar was understaffed for a party of that size and they never responded to requests for help. I wouldn't visit... more

Corozal Bay Inn has been around for several years, but owners Doug and Marie Podzun sold their original funky units (now renovated, called Hotel Paradise, and offered up by the new owner, locally known as "Herman the German," as mostly weekly or longer-term accommodations, at affordable rates) and have created a charming new cabaña colony by the bay. Doug and... more

I stayed at the Corozal Bay Inn last week. This was during the famous Belize telephone company strike. I was at another hotel in the country and they kicked me out because the credit card machines were not working countrywide. ATM's were also down. Corozal Bay Inn welcomed us with open arms and said we can stay, eat & drink... more
