It calls itself a maison d'hote, a guesthouse, but it is in fact a haven, an oasis, a place where you can refind yourself after a busy day in the Medina of Tangier. The owners and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the house, riad-style, wonderfully decorated and individually designed, the roof terrace offers a splendid view on the Streight... more

We arrived in Morocco via Tangiers and it was only La Tangerina that stopped us turning around. I have to admit Tangiers grew on us after a couple of days but La Tangerina was a solstice in a bad start. The staff are amazing and helpful but at the same time leave you to yourself. We stayed in the terrace... more

After reading the reviews we had high expectations and we weren't disappointed. great location, marvellous views from the terrace, good staff, lovely rooms all of which seem to have their own character. Although we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms we saw the suites (as the doors to the rooms are all kept open while not occupied) and they... more

We (a party of four) stayed in a senior suite for three nights in early August and I'm happy to report that this hotel alone would bring me back to Tangier. The buidling is informal yet beautiful, homely without losing any of the professional approach travellers now expect. The rooms are large, airy, some have balconies and the rooftop terrace... more

This hotel is an island of tranquillity, quality, charm and trust in a wonderfully chaotic and disorganised city. We spent a couple of days in Tangier with our 2 children (2 and 7), and found this to be an extremely welcoming and providing hotel - which proved to be a really solid base for our trip. We found the level... more

We spent three nights at La Tangerina and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel was probably built in the 1920’s and has been beautifully restored with furniture from that era. There are three floors built around a covered patio. Our room was on the third level and had a view of the Strait of Gibraltar and Spain. The... more

La Tangerina is an oasis of peace and tranquility, hidden in what is a filthy , dirty, seedy and unattractive town. The rooms are fantastic, especially those with a sea view, and the service is excellent. If you fancy a relaxed dinner, they will cook you a meal that you can eat on the roof terrace, of which there was... more

We loved this adorably appointed guest house! It is well positioned in the kasbah; some rooms having views of the ocean. It is walking distance to the medina, and a long walk (or quick cab) to the newer part of town. The rooftop terrace is lovely--we had breakfast and tea up there overlooking the water. Each room is unique, and... more

I could go on and on about the gorgeous hotel, furnished with vintage/antique furniture (even old radios) the owners collected in their travels around Morocco. The service is great, the rooms comfortable and the bathrooms adorable. Tea on the rooftop patio and breakfast with fellow travelers were the highlights. Don't be shy about asking for traveling advice at the front... more

Lovely place and lovely people. We really enjoyed our stay at La Tangerina and our time in Tangier in general. The place is beautiful and airy; perched right at the high peak of the historic kasbah and overlooking the ocean. The owners are fantastic and very helpful. Farida went out of her way to help us make arrangements for further... more
