Baan Chantra is the perfect place to stay in the craziness of Bangkok. Although it is on a main road, the windows are double paned so you don't hear a thing - peaceful and quiet. Your stay includes breakfast and if you are leaving early for a day tour, they will pack a breakfast for you to take along. Kulthida,... more

My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Baan Chantra this August. The hotel is located close to the Grand Palace and the main sights in Bangkok. It is on a main street but we were not bothered by the traffic when in the hotel. Kulthida, who runs the hotel, and her staff made us feel very welcome... more

I stayed at the Baan Chantra as a solo female traveller at the end of a long trip through Southeast Asia. I felt completely safe and comfortable there in the midst of a big crowded city. I thought the location was excellent; close to tourist parts of town but removed enough to feel like I was in a more authentic... more

We loved our 4-day stay at the Baan Chantra. We had booked a nicer hotel in Bangkok after flying in, to have a bit of relaxation with our 2-year-old. We booked a room with one king bed and one cot for 2500 bhat per night. The place is beautiful - dark teak wood everywhere, a beautiful little enclosed patio attached... more

My wife and I loved Baan Chantra. We stayed for 3 nights on a stopover on the way to Australia and we were delighted with our choice. We always prefer guest houses to large hotels. The staff at the guest house quickly make you feel at home. We had the deluxe room, which was beautifully kept, of a good size... more

We stayed at the Baan Chantra for 3nights in February. We chose the Baan Chantra based on reviews on Trip Advisor and in the Lonely Planet and we weren't disappointed. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and it felt as though you were staying at a friend or relatives house - shoes off on arrival and slippers... more

The staff in this guest house are excellent and make the experience of staying at Baan Chantra easy, comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are pleasant and quiet and the Thai breakfast is great, but the staff were awesome - always completely helpful and friendly and accommodating to the point where they let us use a free room to shower and... more

I have to totally agree with the review below mine. A fantastic place in Bangkok in a great area. It is about 45 minutes from the airport on a normal day, but so is everything. The staff there, especially the main lady, is phenomenal. My wife and I are vegan and she was so excited to make us traditional Thai... more

Baan Chantra is rated excellent by a lot of people and it deserves every single word of appreciation that has been written! It's not necessary to repeat again how friendly and nice everybody is, how clean the hotel is and how lovely the rooms are decorated. We loved this place so much that I started wondering why at all there... more

We just returned from Thailand and stayed at the Baan Chantra twice, at the beginning and end of our trip. It is a wonderful, small guesthouse near Khao San Road. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. The young man is good with helping charge ipods, and fixing the cable t.v. They will flag down a taxi and negotiate the... more
