we have just come back from a two night stay in Hereen House, firstly I will say it is in a great place, and I booked it after reading the great reviews! Maybe I was expecting too much? the owners Liz and Bernard were extremly friendly! the cafe was quaint, breakfast was ok(small portion) but our room was a let down! there... more

Heeren House is a delightful guest house. It has just 6 rooms so is pretty booked up most of the time, especially at weekends. While far more expensive than other guest houses in the old quarter it is worth paying the extra. We stayed in a small twin room on the first night (149RM) and then moved to the family... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in April ‘08. We had wanted to be in the historic part of town, rather than across the river in the modern section. The Heeren House (not to be confused with the Heeren Inn down the street) is just across the bridge from the old town square and sits right on... more

My husband and I recently spent four nights at Heeren House. Liz and Bernard are wonderful hosts and I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough. Just loved the quaintness. Ideally located. Great breakfast served. All staff warm and friendly. Asked Raj (the night watchman) to recommend a good Indian restaurant - sent us to the Restoran Selvam where we ate authentic... more

Heeren House is located right at the riverside in the town centre of Melaka. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very clean. The hosts are welcoming and can give you advice on things to do/see in Melaka. On top there is an American breakfast included in the price. We stayed there for one night in April 2008 - I highly... more

Spent 3 nights at this guest house and enjoyed all of it. The facility is lovely (the cafe and craft shop downstairs were a nice place to linger in the heat of the day). The rooms are simply but tastefully decorated, (just be forewarned if you have a lot of hang up clothing, there are only hooks on the wall... more

We stayed at Heeren House for 2 nights. The combination of a most friendly welcome by the owners, a spotlessly clean room with attached bathroom literally overlooking the Malacca River, and an unbeatable location made this a very enjoyable trip. The modest room rate includes an excellent breakfast. Small dishes, snacks and drinks are available at extra charge throughout the... more

Lovely English-style B&B in an old Malaccan Dutch house on what used to be Heeren Street. Spotlessly clean, cool tiled floors and shutters for shade and privacy make for a far more "real" stay in Malaysia than big corporate hotels. The location is unbeatable - over the bridge to the old Portuguese and Dutch towns/churches/museums/etc and the two main baba... more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in January and loved it! The location is excellent, and the whole guesthouse has a very welcoming atmosphere. The decorations, the craft store, the furniture and bedding - all of it was delightful. Service was excellent, rooms were spotless, and I agree with those who said the breakfast is the best... more

When I had to relocate to another guesthouse in Melaka, I found Heeren House and loved it. It was quiet, clean, has attached bathrooms and tea/coffee making facilitiers. My room also had a great view onto the river. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Must be said: this guesthouse also has the best English breakfast in town. I believe... more
