An absolutely dreadful hotel. The heater in my room was broken, and the shower drain was clogged. Neither was repaired during my 2 days at this hotel. The pool (which they advertise so boldly) was not heated, despited assurances to the contrary. Truly a dreadful stay. If this is a 4 star hotel, what on Earth is a Holiday Inn????? more

Stayed here on business trip. was upgraded without asking. Hotel is cute, boutiquey, very cool features like I-Pod alarm clock, music playing when you come into the room etc. Very mod but not uncomfortable. Would recommend. Only downside, the sign is small so hard to find from the road. Parking is expensive. more

I stayed here last year on a month long tour of California and am glad I only stayed a single night, and would honestly say that I'd never stay here again. The hotel is aesthetically pleasant, with nicely decorated rooms which have a boutique feel. Breakfast beside the pool was also a relatively enjoyable experience, with tasty food and the... more

This hotel was perfect. The room was lovely, was a good size and had everyhting we needed. The resturant and bar was excellent, with great food and service in an amazing setting. The hotel is close to the centre of Beverly Hills and so shopping and eating are within walking distance. The service from the front desk was exemplary. Stay... more

I really wanted to love this Hotel. The staff was friendly, but the specific requests we had made by phone two weeks in advance (a room in the main building, king size bed) were nowhere on record. The same thing happened to a travel companion with a separate phone call. The staff almost did their best to repair the situation;... more

This hotel has a lot of great features and some not so great. The staff is really nice and helpful. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing. It's a nice place to lounge or meet up with friends. The rooms are average, mostly because they seem run down. The bathrooms are ugly and had bad lighting. Upon arrival in the... more

It is my second time at the Avalon and it is defintly a charming place. The staff is great, always caring for your needs or problems. The area is fine, plenty of shops nearby. If you work in the entertainment business count $40 rides to Burbank in a cab, 20$ for Hollywood. The rooms are OK++. Close to be great... more

This was a great find for a small boutique hotel. The staff was wonderful and the location was close to everything in Beverly hills and Hollywood. It is walking distance, though a good walk away from Rodeo. Lots of great restaurants close to the hotel although the hotel has its own restaiurant which candidly we did not eat at as... more

My point of view is for those who need a hotel room for business and who typically stay in four star and above hotels. Overall a clean place with good toiletries. Trying to be funky and chiq but ended up with dysfunctional design that didn't work. Main problems were noise levels - can hear TV in adjacent rooms, and person... more

What is this hotel trying to be ? Boutique ? Edgy ? Layed-back ? Exclusive ? I couldn’t figure it out. I wanted a quiet place in Beverly Hills but more than a B&B. The Avalon certainly meets that criteria. And the area is lovely and walkable. The lobby, pool and restaurant all share the same generally smallish space and... more
