I stayed three nights at Zhiwa Ling: my first two nights in Bhutan and my last. It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting with all the modern conveniences, included HBO and heated slate floors in the bathrooms. It's very clean, and the staff is courteous and efficient. My only objections to Zhiwa Ling are that it's not close to... more

After a week of wonderful experiences and people, ho-hum hotels and scary roads it was great arriving at the Zhiwa Ling. The beautiful rooms were reasonably priced (US 230), had great views and excellent bathrooms and were ENORMOUS . The staff , as all Bhutanese, were extremely nice and professional. The food was very good and the prices where once again... more

Just back from a 2 week trip to Bhutan and stayed at the Zhiwa Ling 3 times - at the beginning, middle and end of the trip. It was utterly fantastic and although have been to Aman Resorts a couple of times in the past, simply cannot see the point of paying 3 x the price, over the Zhiwa Ling.... more

We were very impressed with the facilities and the excellent service to accomodate my 85-year-old mother. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort, including room service on meals. We loved the setting and convenience of the hotel as we had also used Aman Kor hotels in Bhutan. The food was good but could be improved. Our only... more

I have stayed at Zhiwa Ling twice and it was a great experience both times. Aside from the hotel itself being beautiful, the bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed. Compared not only to other hotels in this area (of which some may be suspect) this is the best place to stay. You can not go wrong staying at this hotel.... more

We just returned from an amazing journey to the Kingdom on Bhutan. Since we flew in and out of Paro, our trip started and ended with the Zhiwa Ling. It was the BEST and by far our favorite hotel of the entire visit. The Zhiwa Ling combines authentic Bhutanese architecture and beauty with Western comfort. The beds are to die... more

Grandiose architecture with a stunning lobby/foyer adorned with intricate wood carvings, spacious rooms with private balconies that overlook the valley, and earnest staff make this one of the top hotels in Bhutan. But there is still room for improvement. Yes, it is billed as a five-star hotel, but somehow compared to the other five-star hotels, Uma and Amankora, there is... more
