When people think of staying in Chicago, they probably don't realize there's more to this city than downtown. House of Two Urns offers a taste of residential city life, in buildings that were at one time single family homes. Staying in a residential neighborhood was fascinating, and this area has lots to offer - plenty of flavor and character. We... more

I stayed at the House of Two Urns Bed and Breakfast for three nights in November 2007. My boyfriend and I stayed in La Chambre des Chats (the cat room) and, before we arrived, felt a little trepidation at what we were letting ourselves in for. The website for the bed and breakfast does not do them justice and we... more

If there is a "typical bed and breakfast experience," this isn't it. To be sure, there was a bed, filling most of the well-planned (but somewhat small) Blue Room in which we stayed. There was a breakfast, too--a delicious and balanced mix of savory and exotic flavors. All areas were meticulously clean, and each had a different quirky appeal--artwork everywhere,... more

I stayed here with several friends. The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable and the price wasn't bad since we split it between five people. The rooms were comfortable and there was a nice porch out back to chill out on. The kitchen was well stocked with muffins, cereal, and coke. There were also necessities like sugar, salt, creamer,... more

Before booking my stay, I was a litte bit concerned because of the previous reviews about this place, but I took the risk, and I have to say that based on my experience, none of the bad reviews -mostly back to 2003-makes justice to The House of the Two Urns. That is why I decided to take my time to... more

This is a very nice B&B and frequented by many people who are artists or interested in the arts. The owner supplies wonderful breakfasts and the partially restored historic building is charming. We stayed in the annex, a house across the street, and had the place to ourselves. We were very comfortable, and I was able to use the laundry... more

We stayed in the apartment for one week. However, what was odd was the reservation and deposit system. When you make your reservation, you have to put down a $300 deposit. Then, 90 days from your scheduled stay, the remaining amount of money is charged to your credit card. At this point, it is non-refundable. Therefore, if you had a... more

On a recent stay in Chicago to meet with my brother and to see the Tut exhibit at the Field we found a gem in Wicker Park. Since five of us would need a place to stay we decided to look into a B&B. This apartment is located in the Annex of the House of Two Urns. Obviously the owners... more

A singleton, I split the 2 BR Chambres Des Amis with a couple -- we were all attending a wedding. It could not have been a more perfect solution. Not only was this a vastly more economical choice all round than 2 souless hotel rooms, but we were able to enjoy the fab breakfasts (and I'm picky!) and beautiful patio--... more

We stayed here three nights and were relatively pleased with our stay. The hostess is unobtrusive and reserved, but helpful. She lent us passes to the Art Institute of Chicago which was a big plus. The house is filled to the brim with interesting art peices. Our room was tiny, but we had a spacious closet to place all of... more
