I was worried a bit about this booking, but was actually delighted with my stay. The staff were great, the room was very comfortable (although the bathroom was very small). It is true that the air blows on and off throughout the day/night; but it didn't bother me (or members of my family). The restaurant was fine -- we had... more

Just stayed one night over the weekend at this hotel with the in-laws, and a son that lives in the city. An informal family get together if you will. This hotel was just the ticket for that. Also, We wanted to visit the Botanic Gardens which is nearby, and have a Father's day dinner at the Ruth's Chris steak house... more

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows to choose from. There was a large work desk perfect for a computer. Nice flat screen tv. That's about all that stood out, though. The desk had outlets that you could plug in cell phones, etc., except ours did not work. We ordered a movie... more

For the bargain AAA rate of $89.00 per night we would love to love this hotel, but.......... there is a major problem with the heating system, and the very loud blower kept us up most of the 3 nights. I used earplugs and a pillow over my head - but it was not enough! Too bad, because the beds are... more

Having stayed here three times, I had three different experiences - which makes this an inconsistent performer and not my favorite choice in the Northbrook area. Rooms ranged from clean, well appointed, and roomy with a fine king sized bed to smaller, worn, with two dented-in double beds. The workout room is pretty good with weight and cardio machines. The... more

This bizarrely chess-themed suburban Renaissance is exactly what you'd expect from a midlevel chain. The rooms were average but clean, with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. If you need to stay in this area, this is a perfectly sufficient hotel, with adequate service, a decent breakfast buffet, a nice bar, an indoor pool and outdoor sun deck, and nice rooms. more

Although I generally shy away from large chain hotels, we stayed here because it was near the events for my sister's high school reunion. We found it to be comfortable and pleasant. We were able to arrange for a roll-away cot for my adult son who was joining us for two nights -- and they did not charge us anything... more

I stayed at the Renaissance North Shore Hotel in Northbrook on a summer weekend for a family event. Our extended family used 6-10 rooms and made use of the pool and free hotel shuttle. The service at the Renaissance is excellent, even on weekends. The bellmen were attentive and helpful (without being pushy). We arranged a free shuttle for 12... more

I stayed at this hotel in May to attend the Chicago Botanic Gardens plant sale. It is about 3 miles from the garden. The was a great hotel for $99.00 a night. It is about 30 minutes south of Chicago and a great surprise. They even offer a shuttle service to the garden. After a night at the sleazy Congress... more

VERY SMALL rooms. The bathrooms are tiny too. But the worst problem was the A/C unit which was loud and was blowing the air so hard, the curtains were flying. The busy highway is right around the corner from the hotel, so it's impossible to get a good night sleep because of the highway noise and on top of that... more
