I am a single mom in search of somewhere to stay, during our bad weather, which knocked out electric at my home for over 7 days, I tried to locate a hotel near my work and the cheapest i had been able to find was about 135 a night, i can not afford that. When i called to see if... more

I've stayed at the Wildwood twice on business. I found the service very accomodating, and the locaion conveinent. The first trip I enjoyed immensely as I was lucky enough to get a King room. The room was fabulous; quiet, and exceptionaly comfortable!! The second time I had a double queen room and while not as nice as the King, still... more

We held our extended family Christmas at this hotel. We had seven rooms. We all commented on the helpful staff, the quiet rooms, and the overall excellent condition of the property. We enjoyed the pool and the lobby areas. Wonderful experience! more

We love this hotel - this was our third stay here! We like the character to this place -- the rooms and lobby are all decorated as if they're a lodge in the wilderness. The rooms are comfortable and roomy, and the bed pillows are extremely soft and airy. The hotel is right off I-235/I-35 and is next to several... more

The staff was very helpful to me before and during the stay. There were a lot of kids there, running up and down the stairs and through the hallways. That was not their fault but they could have tried to control it. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was nice and clean. more

Just spent two weeknights at the Wildwood. The location is super-convenient for my business travel in the Des Moines area, close to a lot of restaurants and various shopping needs. Though it's right off I-35 I didn't experience highway noise inside the hotel. The hotel rooms and lobby were spacious and clean. Not new but in really good shape. My... more

If you enjoy a travel experience featuring parents drinking in a room while their children frantically run wild through the hallways trying to get into guest rooms, if you don't mind a staff unable or unwilling to deal with out-of-control conditions, if you like the idea of putting superficial northwoods decor on cheap construction, if you like poor room design,... more

We stayed at the Wildwood one of the coldest weeks of the year. Great place to stay. Decorated in lodge styling with reds and navys, with pictures, lamps and even the mirrors carrying the hunting /fishing motifs. The staff is super friendly. Breakfast daily including at least one hot item eg. belgian waffles, egg casserole. The location is excellent. Right... more

What a breath of fresh air! This hotel is built like a northern lodge, a cabin complete with canoe, fireplaces, rockwork, etc. Yet, it is in the vast plains of the Midwest. It's less than 5 minutes to Jordan Creek Mall, Valley West Mall, a bike path, waterpark, etc. If you're in Des Moines on business this is the place... more

We recently stayed at the Wildwood Lodge. It is a very well-kept property with a friendly responsive staff. However, you do not want to stay in a room that overlooks the indoor pool/spa area. We were in one of these rooms. The room was very nice with many extras, but the noise in the pool area echos through the heating/cooling... more
