We have just returned from 7 nights in Fundu and it was truly incredible. From first sighting in the boat until departure we had a spectacular time. The rooms are comfortable, stylish and have real charm with everything you need for your stay. The mini bar is topped up daily and the fizz on arrival was a lovely touch. The... more

We have recently returned from 9 nights at Fundu as part of our belated honeymoon, and having waited 8 months for our honeymoon we wanted something special - it was well worth the wait! I fail to see how anyone could be disappointed with a single aspect of their visit here. From the moment we arrived and were greeted from... more

Fundu Lagoon, a hidden gem We have just returned from a fabulous time in Zanzibar, we don’t usually write on trip advisor but do regularly use it for advice and check it for other peoples experiences, We would consider Fundu Lagoon as a very charming little place and very well run, We have travelled well, and to many top end... more

We had a disappointing stay at Fundu and this was unexpected. Reading back through the reviews on here, I find it intriguing how some guests are able to recommend Fundu and I wonder maybe this is related to their expectations and cost. After all, Fundu has 4 classes of rooms with the prices from lowest to highest doubling and if... more

Absolutely amazing place, a little piece of heaven. We stayed for 9 nights and had the best and most romantic time. Matt and Anni (the managing couple) made the stay even more special by being so attentive and fun. Loved the accomodation, the view, the beaches, the sunset jetty bar. The pool is great, with a stunning view over the... more

In short - a piece of heaven. we were lucky to get Bungalow 12 which had its own pool and extra space and private sunbathing area. The views are fab. the time of year was a little overcast in the morning but hot in the afternoon. breakfast is fine - eggs on toast and tea. then pool food each lunchtime... more

Well, this may be a delayed review....but having just browsed this site as a reminder of what a wonderful time we had, I really just wanted to add one point that helped to make our holiday so special. Chatting to the friendly staff at the bar, it become clear that they would really like us to visit the local village... more

I have recently returned from a two week stay at Fundu Lagoon, Pemba Island, Tanzania. It was in their rainy season, as such, but a few days of a bit of drizzle and slight wind, did not spoil the sheer luxury and beauty of the place, or indeed my holiday. The rest of the time, the weather was wonderful. (I... more

Each time I close my eyes I think of the view from my room, beach suite #11. First, a smaller resort w max 20 bungalows and 120 members of staff for approx 38 guests. WIthout going on endlessly, the service overall was excellent and room was heaven. Beach was private, therefore very clean and no "beach boys" like on Zanzibar.... more

After a week of Safari in Kenya and a few days in busy Stonetown we really hoped that Fundu Lagoon would provide us with a relaxing end to our holiday. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we knew we had made the right choice. The hotel Manager Matt met us on the jetty as our speed boat pulled... more
