I read about this place in Frommer's guide book, and I am so glad that I did. Hubby and I needed a place to stay on a road trip, somewhere midway between New York City and Niagara Falls, and we chose the Roxbury. What a fun and unique place! It is very inviting from the moment you arrive, with the... more

We would like to thank this guest so much for their wonderful review. We're kind of blown away, though, that they felt our mattresses were hard. They are double pillow-top mattresses that we had made for us by Sealy and they were one of our largest investments when we recently furnished The Roxbury. Many of our guests have even inquired...

My husband and I stayed overnight here in an attempt to get out of the city and catch some fresh mountain air. We loved the motel-- we stayed in George's Spacepad which was funky and cool (and it was really fun to soak in the red light-up tub!). Everything was immaculate, and the breakfast was delicious. However, I wouldn't recommend... more

There are very few, if any, villages in the Catskills with numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance of a hotel that is also located in the village. In fact, The Roxbury is rare for the Catskills in that within five minutes outside its doors you have five restaurants (open on different days), two golf courses, a snow skiing resort,...

Really quirky rooms done to a high standard with nice finishing touches. A lot of heart and soul has gone into making this place special from the nibbles/cookies available in the lounge during the day to the tv/dvd player in each bedroom and in the living room. A lovely place to relax reading a book or snoozing in the grounds... more

My boyfriend (33) and I (28) stayed in a Kitchenette at the Roxbury Motel in late July of 2008. We went solely for a weekend of relaxation. We usually keep ouselves busy with activites but came here just to relax and have beautiful mountainous scenery to look upon. We were very pleased with all aspects of this motel. The owners... more

I don't really know what I can add to what people have already said about this astonishing hotel. I cannot think of any superlatives about this place that have not already been used. Suffice to stay The Roxbury is the kind of hotel that you stumble upon once in a lifetime. I really can't imagine that there is anywhere else... more

In a word, wow! My wife and two year old decided to join me on my latest business to NYC. Spending only one night in the Catskills, Tripadvisor members suggested The Roxbury. What an experience. I have had the fortune to stay at a number of world class properties, the Roxbury has a similar service approach with a very funky... more

Yes, it is true. The Roxbury does live up to it's rave reviews. It is a fun quirky place that bends over backwards to please it's guests. The property is gorgeous-especially the outdoor lounge area. The rooms are totally "cool" and very clean. The owners are so warm and friendly and truly seem to want you to have a fabulous... more

My 2 days at the Roxbury were pure magic. A dream come true. As a semi budget traveller I am used to paying too much for way too little when travelling in the States, but at the Roxbury I walked through the looking glass into a world unlike any I have previously experienced. I stayed in "Fred's Lair" - one... more

Loved the Roxbury!!! My daughter and I made our annual trip to visit my son at camp in the Catskills. Last year, we made the mistake of staying at the Tennanah Golf "Resort" which, while beautiful as a golf course, was a terrible stay. This year, we booked a room at The Roxbury. Although an hour's drive to the camp,... more
