We just got back from a week in Yalapa, staying at the Hotel Lagunita. We were two families with 7 kids between us from college age down to 11 years old. Hotel Lagunita - wonderful, it is what we were looking for in terms of getting disconnected, relaxed and remote. The rooms are rustic, my wife calls it a step... more

My wife and I just stayed at Hotel Lagunita for 3 days and that is more than enough time.....believe me. During the daytime it truly is Paradise there in Yelapa it is a must see, and the food at hotel Lagunita is wonderful, you eat every meal outdoors under thatch roofs directly on the beach, and at night it is... more

We stayed at Hotel Lagunita for the last three night of our vacation after staying a week in downtown Puerto Vallarta. I had been to Yelapa a few years prior on a day trip and fell in love so we deiced to come back for a few days. We were there the last week in April and in was absolutely... more

As you can tell by my title, my boyfriend and I felt like we managed to discover a real-life Gilligan's Island. We both have high-stress jobs, and this vacation was just what the doctor ordered. It was incredibly relaxing. The water and scenery are like a movie-set--almost surreal in their beauty. The staff-especially Lucas, the owner--were very kind and helpful.... more

Hotel Lagunita was exactly what we were looking for. A rustic/primative get away from all the hussle and bussle of life in general. Lucas and his staff take very good care of you, and you could not meet a more friendly group of people. I would have given the place an excellent if if were not for all the vendors... more

We just got back from Lagunita. As reported the bed's are very bad. I don't have back trouble but I did after staying here. We almost checked out early the pain was so bad every morning. Lucklily we had invested in some pharmacia painkiller's in PV before we got here. Also drank alot so we'd fall asleep on the rocks... more

My husband, 21 month old daughter, and I stayed at Hotel Lagunita for 7 nights in April 2008. We stayed in a ocean view room and were quite comfortable with hot water and electricity. The one exception is the beds...they are quite firm and I woke up with a backache every morning. We didn't have any problems with bugs, insects... more

"Luxurious camping" might be a good way to describe Hotel Lagunitas. We stayed there for 5 nights in late March 2008...had virtually no problems with mosquitos/bugs/bats/etc. Yep, beds are firm, but my back did not complain once. Yep, the ocean is loud at night. Change your mindset and consider it a lullaby. What I wish I knew before I went:... more

The hotel was definitely not what I expected. I knew it was open-air but to what extent was not clear until arrival. In many cases other people can see into your room even with the shutters drawn. And this endless open-air feeling is an invitation for all critters great and small to invade your space. I had a 1.5 foot... more

We stayed at Hotel Lagunita for about 4 nights in May. It was so beautiful and relaxing, it felt like a week. The accomodations are so romantic and have a rustic, yet clean feel. And the views are incredible. You can sit up in bed and sea the ocean while lying down. The owner Lucas is incredibly lovely and a... more
