Stayed here 1 night on business. Don't typically stay at Marriott's for the reasons that are about to follow: Having stayed in approx 100 hotels per year on business, I look for nice hotels with value added ammenities. I stayed at this hotel for one night while on a business trip in Memphis. The hotel is very close to the airport and it offered a shuttle service every half hour. My wife and I just returned from a 2-night stay at the Memphis Marriott in mid-November and found very little wrong with this hotel property. At great feature with this hotel is the parking lot is gated whereas the surrounding hotels have open parking lots. All I really need is a comfortable bed and a hot shower and this Marriott had a very comfortable bed and a nice shower. On the downside, it had a small bathroom countertop, no fridge or microwave, the room smelled like mold, and the toilet didn't flush. A maintenance person did respond within 15 minutes and fixed the toilet. more

I have never stayed in a Marriott before because rooms there are usually more expensive than Holiday Inns, Comfort Inns, etc. After staying at the Marriott Memphis East for four days, I'll never stay in a Marriott again.
