Upon checking in to the Doubletree, I was a little taken back that they have failed to update their lobby area and furniture was very dated and worn looking. Rooms were ok ,beds were really good, but if you can afford it splurge and go to the Westin. It is closer to Beale Street and newer. The pool is why... more

The hotel was very nice, the room was comfortable and clean, and the location was excellent. I'm not sure what more to say. If you are in town with the main purpose of visiting Beale St. (like we were), this is a great place to stay. more

I agree with some of the reviews that say the rooms could use some updating. The bathroom seemed especially 1970's. However, my room was very clean and had one of my favorite things when traveling for business: free wireless. The room was also a very good size with a comfortable bed. So while some new carpet and new bathtub could... more

I've stayed in dirtier hotels, but not in this country. All the common areas were dirty, the elevators, my carpet was stained, the wallpaper was patched by a 5-year old, and there was a big blotch of something on the inside of my comforter. The rooms are small and do not have any of the amenities associated with most Doubletrees.... more

We chose this hotel because of its location and the fact that it was about $ 50 less than surrounding hotels. Photos are misleading. We have stayed at many Hilton family hotels and this one isn't of that quality. It is right across the street from the Peabody and has a great location but is definitely not worth what we... more

Nice clean room with a fantastic comfortable bed. But very noisy air conditioning. When hotel staff was contacted they told us it was like that in all the rooms due to the age of the building. Don't plan on getting a good nights sleep, it is hot in Memphis and you will need the air conditioner. The noise from it... more

We booked this hotel for a two day trip to Memphis over the 4th of July weekend. The hotel was in a perfect location for easy access to many of the main downtown sites. We had been told about the "Rendezvous" restaurant which just happened to be across the street-well worth a visit!! The rooms were clean and very comfortable.... more

Our experience with the Memphis Downtown Doubletree was positive. The Doubletree is in the remodeled and expanded building of which the older part was, apparently, for many years the Tennessee Hotel that served downtown Memphis. The Doubletree facility is across the street from the famous Memphis Peabody Hotel. It is about a half block from the Rendezvous barbeque restaurant, and... more

We arrived after 11:00pm on a Saturday night. Our rooms were not ready! The hotel was way below standard for what we expected from Doubletree (dirty and smelly, especially the carpets) -- one room they tried to put us in had just had a bachelor's party in it hours before and it reeked of vomit, beer and pizza with an... more

The Doubletree Memphis Downtown is ideally situated for the tourist who wants close access to Beale Street, Autozone Park, FedEx Forum, and other downtown attractions. I stayed in a standard room and it was very comfortable, with lots of pillows on the bed. Valet parking is $20 per day for hotel guests, so keep that in mind as you budget... more
