I travel to San Francisco frequently for work, and always stay at the Hotel Carlton. It's a great, small, out-of-the-way, affordable hotel with friendly staff. I joined the Joy of Life club (the Carlton's loyalty program) and they gave me a free bottle of wine! more

This hotel was fantastic, it was in a great location only a few blocks away from Union Square and excellent value for money. The hotel was close to shops and restaurants.
