Staying at the Courtyard was pleasant. The rooms are your typical hotel rooms. They were very clean and comfortable. I didn't check out the pool or the restaurant, so I am unsure about those. But it was easy to walk to the major sights--the Liberty Bell/Independence Hall, down along the river, and South Street, etc. Overall I enjoyed my stay. more
Loved the atmosphere of this hotel. Very historic, lovely architecture, clean and well kept. Was the annex of the city hall at one time. One of three Marriotts on the block. Upon arrival, they were "pre-registering" and would call us when our rooms were ready. That was certainly acceptable, as they took our bags to the holding area for us... more
My wife and I stayed at this Courtyard during the Independence weekend. All I can say is "Oh Wow". The location is wonderful. The train station is only two blocks away. We took the train directly from the airport (Train ticket is cash only). The Reading Terminal Market is a block away which you can enjoy a lot of good... more
I recently stayed here for two nights while in town for a conference. Check in was smooth and took about 5 minutes. I was surprised to learn that the clerk gave me a room with a view of City Hall. Well what that meant was you have a room that borders a very busy street. I felt like I was... more
My family and I enjoyed the Courtyard on a recent July 4th weekend visit. The hotel is centrally located, directly across from City Hall. It is in a beautifully restored 1926 historic building, the City Hall Annex. Guest room floors are completely new. The room was very nice with a lot of sun and a great City Hall and city... more
I was headed to Philadelphia for a conference and my wife and I decided to go a little early to enjoy the city. Using Tripadvisor we found the Courtyard and looked into it immedately. This place is wonderful. It is right in the center of town. If you don't mind walking, you can be just about anywhere you want in... more
This is my favorite place to stay in Philadelphia now. I've stayed there 3 times and found that it's really the best bang for your buck hotel in the city. It's centrally located, right near the subway station, a block from Chinatown and just a few blocks from the shops and restaurants around 17th and walnut. The beds are really... more
I recently booked several nights at this hotel for a business trip and convention at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The staff was first rate, and gave us a room with a great view, looking right at City Hall. Rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable. The room was a little small, but they still managed to have a... more
My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights. The rooms were average at best. The concierge was a waste of time – they don’t even come in until noon on Saturday. The bar was sad. We mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday and they did leave two slices of chocolate cake in the room on the first night –... more
