Arrived here 8/15/08 check-in and hotel staff wonderful and very accomodating. After check-in went for some sight-seeing, major power outage during sight-seeing power out at Hilton Desoto. Once again staff very accomodating even recommended moving to another hotel which we did. After staying 2 nights at other hotel, came back to Hilton for remainder of stay. Please be advised Hotel is... more

When my husband told me he booked the Hilton for our stay in Savannah I didn't think twice, we stay at Hiltons often and have never had a bad experience. Well this hotel should not be associatied with the Hilton name. The room was the oldest, dirtiest place I've ever stayed. The shower curtain had so much mildew and mold... more

We stayed here for a wedding in late July. The second we drove up to the hotel (construction site) we were worried. The renovated room we were assigned on the 3rd floor looked nice, but looks were deceiving. Not only did our toilet run the entire time we were there, but we had to pull our door closed to get... more

This hotel was much better than the reviews. Yes, they are redoing the entire hotel, but the staff was excellent. We were on the 9th floor and had a great view of the City. It was easy to self-park. The staff was always helpful. I would stay here again and do recommend this hotel. more

I read the reviews and decided that if it was THAT bad, we would leave and stay elsewhere. 1. We were going to spend the 4th of July weekend in Savannah 2. I paid $139 a night for an upgraded room (12th floor with balcony) that included a Serta-Sleeper mattress, king-size bed, continental breakfast, conceirege lounge access at night Upon... more

I've stayed in Savannah so many times, I can practically walk it with my eyes closed. I usually stay at the excellent Catherine Ward House Guest Inn, but this time I took a chance on the Hilton Desoto to save a iittle money. What a mistake. Do NOT book here unless you have called the hotel to confirm that all... more

Lets start by saying that the hotel is undergoing renovations. Unfortunately, the renovations are still a LONG way from being complete. The room we were in (on the 11th floor) had water spots all over the ceiling, a terribly stained bathtub, a defective light and wallpaper that was beginning to peel. For the first 2 days of our stay we... more

The staff here was friendly, but, man, what a tired hotel. Hasn't been updated in decades. For a business traveler or just a bed for the night, it's fine, but if you're trying to have a leisurely, coddled stay in Savannah, I'd go elsewhere. more

The renovated third floor is very nice. ..they're working their way up.The hotel is "shop-worn" so is greatly in need a renovations. We paid $140 for a Sunday night on Priceline so did well. It seems to have a business-oriented feel but certainly up to snuff for a leisure stay. Quiet-time might be difficult during renovation as we heard pounding... more

Husband and I went to Savannah GA for an extended weekend stay..This was my first visit to Savannah. I booked my hotel on Hotels.com and the Hilton Desoto was very comparative to the other hotel prices but was more conveniently located in the Historic Distric which is where I wanted to stay. I booked a room on the executive floor... more
