This must be one of the cheapest hotels around nyc, and it's good value. Rooms are small and musty, bathroom was more modern. No problems whatsoever with the neighbourhood, even late at night I felt safe. Subway stop is right next to the hotel, very convenient. Also connects easily to JFK. Breakfast is nothing special, poor selection. Can recommend if... more

We stayed at The Red Carpet Inn for 3 nights at the end of May 2008 and were very satisfied with every aspect of the hotel. The room itself was big enough for 3-4 people; the bathroom was spotless and quite luxurious with hairdryer facility and plenty of space to store toiletries; free high speed internet was available in the... more

I stayed at the Red Carpet Inn and let me tell you what -- it was a dump. It was a room, it was cheap, given. I was afraid to sleep under the blankets. The carpet was stained with what either look liked blood or old red wine. It had a musty smell to it and they had a funny... more

I'm with the other reviewers that say this is a good value. I've stayed at the Red Carpet twice in the last month, most recently at a rate of $80 for the night. Can't beat it at that price -- the rooms have been clean, modern, decent, totally adequate. The only word of warning I'd give to people is about... more

We stayed at The Red Carpet Inn overnight on March 28, 2008. We were skeptical as to what to expect due to the mixed reviews on this site. We were given a room on the 1st floor which was neat & clean. Clearly there had been recent renovations as all bathroom fixtures were new (Toilet, sink, shower). The bathroom had... more

This is a great hotel for the budget traveler who just needs a place to sleep while in the city. Seven of us stayed in two rooms - two double beds each. The rooms were clean, there was plenty of hot water when we used the showers, the beds were comfortable, the staff was pleasant and there were great bagels... more

Rooms very dirty and I was constantly shuffled from room to room everyday so that they could maximize their profit. I was put in smoking rooms that I was told were non-smoking and there were no clocks in any room, lights burned out and extremely dirty. My final room had no smoke detectors, only wires hanging from the ceiling. Stay... more

The picture of the hotel conveniently crops out the liquor store next door, the gang graffitti all over the boarded up buildings, and the obvious location in the ghetto. I was amazed to read this place is only about a year old? I would have thought it was much older, just renovated. There's little security, as you can walk right... more

I stayed at the red carpet inn overnight during the first week of February 2008. I followed the advice past guests and asked for a room facing the parking lot, which was granted. My room was simple with an end table and alarm, area to hang clothes, tv, bed, pillows, and a small bathroom with a shower/tub. It was clean... more

I stayed at the hotel on Thanksgiving eve. When I arrived I found that I lost my card in Chinatown (it was later found). The front desk let me pay cash instead. We were given a nice room on the first floor. The room was clean and neat. I went to a grocery across the street and later ordered Chinese... more
