This is a very nice hotel right in the French Quarter on Bourbon Street. We went for the French Quarter Jazz Festival and had a great time. They close down most of the streets in the area for musicians, so you wander around and listen. There is a schedule of guests plus the local musicians who set up on their... more

When I booked the hotel, the agent was very nice and helpful. I thought the rooms with jacuzzis were outrageously expensive, but if you can, I'd recommend splurging for a balcony room. One of the best nights we had was eating crawfish, drinking beer and people watching on our balcony. It is awesome to be this close to Bourbon St,... more

This hotel has restaurants, bars and even a Starbucks in the lobby. Life saver after those lonnng nights. The hotel is located right on Bourbon but it is down a couple blocks from the rowdy part of Bourbon. The rooms were very nice and paying the extra $100 a night for the balcony was worth it for us, but unless... more

Location excellent- right on Bourban street so you dont need to rent a car or take taxis. Classy upscale hotel with all the southern charm and great ammenities. Quiet fountain garden in the center of the hotel. You cant hear the noise of Bourban Street in this oasis. We stayed on the executive level on the 7th floor. Club room... more

We splurged and booked two Bourbon Street balcony rooms for a post-graduation celebration with our two young adult daughters. Although the hotel itself is a little long-in-the-tooth, its location on lower Bourbon Street can't be beat. There are nicer, fancier hotels and inns nearby, but we chose the Royal Sonesta specifically for its location. Yes, it's noisy and you can... more

All around this was a very nice and enjoyable hotel. The lobby was beautiful, our room was very nice and clean, and the pool area/courtyard were beautiful. As another reviewer commented -they need to replace the carpet in the rooms, but otherwise the rooms were great. The beds were fantastic - nice bed linens and pillows. We didn't have any... more

Stayed at the hotel May 2008. Great location, friendly staff, beautiful room; however the noise from the Country Bar below was excruciating!!! Had a room facing inward toward the pool, as others had recommended, however, the bar band on the first level cranked it up around 4pm and continued to thump until 6am! The room actually vibrated from the noise.... more

There are three ways to see New Orleans....from an expensive Resort Hotel, from an inexpensive Bed and Breakfast, or from this place, Party Central. It is RIGHT on Bourbon Street...so come HERE if you want fun. IF you come here, for goodness' sakes get a balcony room overlooking Bourbon! It is WONDERFUL to escape the crowds, stroll out to your... more

Stayed at the Royal Sonesta from 5/12/08-5/14/08. This is my second annual visit to New Orleans for a work conference. I stayed in a king room with a balcony overlooking the pool. It was a large room with a huge flat screen tv. The room was very quiet with comfortable bedding and down pillows. Restroom amenities were nice and the... more

Perfect location for all your party needs, but quiet enough for a fantastic night's sleep. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel in a better location. The bed was a pleasure to sleep in, and I love the hair and body products in the room! more
