I should know not to talk things up, but after booking a room in the Tower Wing at the Moana Surfrider, I told my wife several times that this would be the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. Since the rate was $500 a night, and since we've stayed in some really nice hotels in prime locations for... more

My husband and I stayed at the Moana Surfrider from June 4th -June 10th (2008). We stayed in an Ocean front room in the Diamond Wing of the resort. I have read a few negative reviews about the Diamond Wing of the Surfrider. We loved our ocean front room. It was very clean! No dirty carpets, no broken air conditioner,... more

We stayed here for 5 nights and had 2 rooms in the tower with the partial ocean view. I think they have a great way to greet you with the Guava Juice and warm towel. We also were allowed to check into the hotel early. Both rooms were big enough for the amount of people we had. The hotel itself... more

This review comes a little late but is in keeping with most of the other comments on the Tower Wing outside room. We could NOT get the room cool enough to sleep in. My lovely wife is always cold even in an 80 degree room and she couldn't sleep because the room was too hot. Maintenance brought a fan and... more

We just completed a three day stay at the Moana Surfrider, having checked out this morning. I can say without exception that it was the best hotel stay we have ever had. Those with an appreciation of historic, (circa 1901), architecture would likely be thrilled with a room in the historic Banyan Tree or Diamond wings of the hotel. Folks... more

My husband and I stayed at the Moana Surfrider one night on our way from Milwaukee to French Polynesia. We booked our room through Starwood using points and we were very pleased. Our reservation was for a Diamond Wing room. We arrived about noon on a Friday and were delighted to find that our room was ready. We found all... more

Since I was a kid, I always felt a certain mystic for the Moana Surfrider hotel. The Banyan Tree and courtyard, the pillars as you enter. 30 years later, I finally stay to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Wow, what a disappointment! We had an Ocean View Room in the Diamond Wing. While the view from the balcony was spectacular, the... more

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked the Westin Moana Surfrider. I had stayed at the Hyatt Regency, which was a high-rise hotel across the road from the beach, but the Westin was smaller and right on the beach so I was concerned it might be a busier environment. However I really liked the Westin. It was very... more

We stayed at the Surfrider 10-13 May. The lobby is lovely, and I enjoyed the banyan tree courtyard. We sat out there one evening, listening to music in the bar, which we enjoyed very much. The room is nice enough, but probably would be crowded if you had 2 beds instead of one king and a roll away. Of the... more

If you have been to Waikiki you know that most hotels are across the main street, each trying to be higher then the next so they can see across to the ocean. The Surfrider is one of a group of Sheraton properties that is literally on the beach which is where we wanted to be. And as a family of... more
