Yeah it was crowded and not as clean as it could have been but it was more than worth the trip. The staff was very attentive and gave us some great tips on places to eat around the Quarter. We will definitely go back on our next trip. more

We tried Cafe Du Monde at Riverwalk Marketplace instead of the French Market location. Beignets were good, but better fresh out of the fryer. Riverwalk Marketplace does not have the atmosphere of the original, but looking out on the river, boats, and birds was enjoyable. If you like filthy souroundings,lousy food and coffee,being ignored,treated like a sap, this is the place for you. There are too many GOOD place in NO to bother with this dump. They're stricktly living on their outdated reputation. Shame, used to be pretty good for what it is, a coffe shop, nothing more. more

Cafe au lait (back when I still drank coffee) and the legendary powdery sugary beignets! The outdoor patio and street jazz playing - this is New Orleans :) more

When in New Orleans the Cafe Du Monde is a must. There is a true New Orleans feel about this place, nothing fancy, basic menu and powered sugar all over the place. After researching New Orleans sites for our multiple day trip, Cafe du Monde was a must see, both as a historical location and for their popular beignets and coffee.
