Hiya all,

Iam engaged to my fiance and have been for three years, he got me an engagement ring and i have just lost it gutted!! its was only cheap one as we got engaged quite young...anyway me and my fiance are going to sydney for three weeks in dec...My fiance is getting me a new engagement ring and i decided to wait until we get to sydney as i heard from someone that the engagement ring are quite cheap in sydney than england...what jewellery's shop would you recommend me in sydney? is it worth it gettind ring in sydney or not???

feel free to look around here as much as you like, we have great ring designers, be it budget or high end.

If you have a stopover on the way in Hong Kong you may find that cheaper than Australia. If so put a post up on the hong kong forum for suggestions. Otherwise it is most likely cheaper here than UK but you will find a lot of variability so you will need to do a lot of research before you go or you will spend your whole holiday looking for rings.

engagement rings are a waste of money. their intrinsic value is about 25% of what u pay for them. better to put the money towards a house deposit or something useful.

oh Lien,each to their own I guess.

I cant blame some people thinking that way,i know a few people that just have a wedding ring that has some diamonds on it, a bit of both really, engagement and wedding band.

LOL I'm with you lien.. but each to their own.. but from what I've heard, the shop in asia advice if you can is right. My daughter can buy jewellery wholesale and she raves about how much cheaper it is to buy in asia (bangkok) even for her...
