Dragon Hostel vs Ibis North Point for Early Sept'08 |
My Asian friend has been staying there for the last 3 years on monthly rates. Enough said.
Sorry but i need to clarify, is your friend staying in the dragon hostel or the Ibis? I was referring to the review on the Ibis by Azianangel8011 not the Dragon Hostel.
Oops... Ibis North Point.
The review of the IBIS by azianangel8011 is something everyone should read - for it's entertainment value at least! As to whether HK hotel staff are 'racist' against Cantonese speakers, I'd doubt it very much. Whether hotel staff in a 3 star like the IBIS are sometimes a little short with guests, I have no doubt that they are - but it is not the Peninsula. Regarding the boiling water incident, it probably would have been quicker for her to catch a taxi to the hospital - ambulances are meant for emergencies. As to aries_traveler888's question, The IBIS is a hotel while Dragon is a hostel, and that is the main reason for the price difference. I don't think there is that much difference between the room quality (IBIS being slightly better), but some people prefer to stay in a hotel and would never stay in a hostel.

Thanks for the help, I've decided to stay in Dragon Hostel, since we won't be spending much of our time inside the rooms :) Again, thanks for all the info and help.
