Budget Airline from Seoul to Tokyo? |
|
Hi Trip advisors! Me n my wife are planning to visit Tokyo for 11 days next year. We would probably wana do 3 - 4 days in Seoul before spending d rest of days in Tokyo. Was wondering which budget airline should we take to Tokyo. Our travel destination would be as follow : Penang, Malaysia (Our country) -> Seoul, Korea -> Tokyo, Japan -> Penang, Malaysia In this case, our flight from Seoul to Tokyo would be a one way trip. I found 'TOO' many budget airlines (both from Korea & Japan) operating on this route and I'm a bit confused on which to choose from. Please Help! Thanks in advance!! |

I'd recommend you to find a good deal on Korean Air or Asiana Airlines to Tokyo Narita from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) or Singapore (SIN), and make a stopover in Seoul. You could fly cheaply to KUL or Johor Bahru from Penang with AirAsia, as you know. I suspect that will work out cheaper than purchasing an open jaw ticket, flying into Seoul Inchon and out of Tokyo Narita, and a Seoul -> Tokyo one way ticket on top. Only full service airlines ply between Tokyo and Seoul. If you can't find an affordable ticket on Korean or Asiana, purchase an affordable open jaw ticket as stated above, and travel overland from Seoul to Tokyo by jet ferry and train. You could make layovers in Hiroshima and Kyoto en route. Beetle ( jet ferry ) between Busan and Fukuoka: http://www.jrbeetle.co.jp/english/ Low cost carrier flying between Fukuoka and Tokyo: http://www.skymark.co.jp/en/index.html Japan Rail Pass info: http://www.japanrailpass.net/eng/en001.html Train price and schedule search: www.hyperdia.com/cgi-english/hyperWeb.cgi Reputable travel agency in Singapore: For your info, full fare one way ticket from Fukuoka to Seoul costs 35,000 yen, or approx. 1,000 ringgit after taxes and charges. I went to Penang last summer and found the food really tasty. I envy you for that :-)

Thanks for d tip! I have heard on open jaw tickets but cant seem to get it done online. I've gota try calling directly to an airline service, but i wud wana avoid that as booking online directly are always cheaper. Penang is known as the food paradise in Malaysia! I envy you too for staying in Japan! It is our dream country to visit and we've been planning it for years and we finally get to visit it next year for our honeymoon! Cant wait! Thanks again!!
