Puerto Rico Honeymoon
When we arrived at Wind Chimes we were told that we had been upgraded to the Acacia Hotel across the street. Acacia was beautiful and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful with things to do including nightlife, local places to eat and car directions. The restaurant within the hotel, Niche, was small but the food was delicious. If your looking for a small, romantic, unique boutique hotel then this is the place for you.
Traveler's tip on dining
Try Bebos restaurant on Calle Loiza. The food is DELICIOUS and wallet friendly.

Great for Couples!!
Me and my girlfriend stood at Wind Chimes and it was great! The staff is very kind and the room was always spotless. They are very helpful, they know all the hot-spots in the area and have great tour information. The prices are great and I recommend it!

Excellent Location and Value
This was a charming hotel one block from the beach. It had an old world feel, the rooms were very comfortable and I loved the tropical feeling. I would highly recommend it for adults but not for families with small children.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
For breakfast, stay away from their continental breakfast as it is pricey and not impressive. A great breakfast can be had at the Kasalta bakery just 5 blocks from the hotel. The beach is 1 block away and it is quite wonderful. The condado area is a short walk from the hotel and the majority of activities include transportation. Therefore, renting a car is not a necessity.

Our stay at Wind Chimes Inn
The hotel was old but clean and comfortable. It was nice having access to Acacia as well and we did go there to the hot tub. Evelyn at Wind Chimes and Felix at Acacia were both very friendly, helpful and made the stay more enjoyable. Many restaurants within walking distance, we did not need a car at all. Took the bus to Old Town for 75 cents each way and the beach near Wind Chimes was very nice. Only drawback was the expensive continental breakfast at Wind Chimes - we never had breakfast there. And you had to pay for coffee - with a kitchenette, it would have been nice to have a coffeemaker in the room.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
We had breakfast at the Patesserie 3 blocks away most mornings. Through the week, breakfast was $4.99 and good. Lunch/dinner there through the week was $6.99. Many good restaurants on Ashford Ave. - about a 8-10 block walk.

So very Quaint!! Love the patios. Would go back there next time. Friendly staff! Very helpful!
Had a lovely time at the hotel and in San Juan. Wished we were there longer. The hotel was charming and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would loved to go back.

Bus system not reliable to coming on time. but the cheapest way to get around. The fort in Old SAn Juan was really worth seeing.

Affordably impressive
Upon arrival to At wind chimes, i was notified that i had been "upgraded" to the sister hotel Acacia, which was wonderful! I can only write good things about Acacia, the rooms were nice and clean. There is a hot tub on the third level and a roofdeck that overlooks the condado. Very safe and the staff were extremely helpful. There is also a restaurant inside the hotel that is supposed to be top rated. Great place.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Cheap breakfast deals at Le Patisserie, a french pastry/diner. Cant beat the $4.99 deals. A five minute walk from the hotel.

amazing honeymoon! (april 14, 08 to april 18, 08)
we honeymooned here and it was great. i made our reservations at the wind chimes but when we arrived we got upgraded(at no charge) to stay at the acacia-which is the newly built"sister hotel" we used amentities at both hotels. the acacia had a fine dining restaurant(niche)-best food ive ever eaten hands down and a huge hot tub which was great after all the walking we did! the wind chimes has a pool and its just across the street from acacia so we just walked over to swim. they also had a boat bar that was wonderful-alan the cook/bartender at night was wonderful! we met a lot of really cool people at that bar! also the day time guy at the acacia-i cant think of his name-he was great about telling us where to eat and places to stay away from.. we would not have made it without his help! i will definetly go back to puerto rico and this is where i will stay!!
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
i really would not go on the "trips" with the vendors. its over priced for what you get..i recommend not having plans and just go exploring. stay away from the real tourist-y parts because its sooo noisy!

Cozy and right next to the beach
We stayed at Acacia, the sister hotel of At Wind Chimes Inn when we were in San Juan, PR mid-April. We originally booked the At Wind Chimes Inn BUT, they had overbooked and moved us over to their sister hotel instead. I can still rate the At Wind Chimes Inn for service and etc. because we had access to both hotels and it was the same people who ran both hotels. Overall, Im pretty satisfied with our stay because everyone was very nice and helpful. However, when we arrived, our room was supposed to be "ocean view" but instead we got "jacuzzi view". The room was also super tiny. It was comfortable and cozy, but super tiny. Also, we noticed that a bath towel was dirty. Throughout our stay, it seemed like the cleaning staff were just dusting things off or straightening dirty towels and such for the appearance of cleanliness. Thats just what it seemed like, I could be wrong. Also, we went to the Boat Bar for breakfast twice. In PR it seems like people just make up prices on the fly (Ex. A sandwich is $8 alone one day and then it includes fries and is bigger for the same price the next). I would avoid the Boat Bar, though it isnt necessarily bad, just very expensive. Other than that, the hotel staff was super helpful, accommodating, and made you feel at home. We would definitely go there again. One more thing: pack LIGHTLY as they have no elevators and you could very well be on the 3rd floor (like we were).
Traveler's tip on dining
Forget Old San Juan - the food there is overpriced and gross. Go to Bebos Cafe, a place where locals eat. The food is awesome and reasonably priced. Just ask the people at the front desk in the hotel. Its only a 6-7 minute walk from Wind Chimes.

Wind Chimes
I TRULY enjoyed staying at this hotel. I arrived on a monday afternoon and the first thing my best friend and i did after we arrived was go straight to the famous BOAT BAR. Everyone at this so called bar is GREAT. Not only are they nice, but they make great drinks and great food (try their version of chilli cheese fries!!) The room was great and comfortable. I have no complains. The beach was literally a block away, plus, its in a pretty safe neighboorhood. Oh, and dont forget to try their restaurant at their sister hotel ACACIA. The churrasco is EXCELLENT!!! Totally worth going!! Great place, food, drinks and people...
Traveler's tip on dining
Some of the places we tried: ACACIA (in Condado Beach) Very Good.. DRAGONFLY (in Old San Juan) THE BEST ONE!!

Very cute
This hotel is very cute. Its not a 5 star luxury name brand hotel but it was clean and the people were super nice and it was very convenient. The one negative thing I would say is that I dont recomend vacationing in Pureto Rico. It was very dirty. Trash everywhere, on the beach, in the water, in the parks. But if you have to go to San Juan then I would definately recomend this hotel. Its so quaint. The room was not huge but livable. Ceiling fans and air conditioner was great. I loved the pool with the rock wall water fountain and the sun deck. The courtyard was beutiful with allt he plants and even palm trees. The boat bar was convenient and had really good food. The beach is super close and the casinos and bar/resturants are in walking distance. I would not recomend walking alone at night but durring the day or with someone is fine.

Great Location in Paridise
We stayed at the Aceida, Wind Chimbs sister Hotel. It was wonderful. We were 100 paces from the beach and could go out on our balcony and see the ocean. The service was the best especially Felix. If you need a recommendation on restruants, entertainment, and site seeing, He is your man. Tell him what you are in the mood for and he knows the perfect place. The Restraunts at the hotel "Niche" and "The Boat Bar" Were some of the best in town as well. Great Spa and pool if you want a change from the beach. Quite neighborhood away from touristy strip and old San Juan but close enough to go to those areas easily. When we go back, and WE WILL, we will not stay anywhere else.

A Garden Spot
Truly a place to "kick back and relax" , yet, close enough to walk to some of the larger hotels, casinos, restaurants and shopping, if you wish to "kick it up a notch". If you wish to stay put, however, the food service and drinks at the hotels "boat bar" are very satisfying. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly... made you feel as if you were a welcome guest in their home.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Dont rent a car, unless you want to explore every remote corner of the island. Local transportation by bus and cab, is reasonable and convenient. I rented a car for five days, only using it twice, and, much to my chagrin, discovered there was no parking available at the hotel, nor hardly, anywhere else in San Juan!

Great Place to Stay....
The Wind Chimes was a great little place to stay at if you want to stay away from the hussale of San Juan but still close enough that you can hop into a cab and be there in about 5 minutes...
Traveler's tip on dining
There is a lot of good dining around the Wind Chimes with most places offering valet parking, however the boat bar located in the hotel serves the worlds best chicken tenders!!!!

Great Stay in San Juan
Wonderful hotel/inn to stay in San Juan. Loved the location and it was very quaint. The only suggestion I would give to the hotel is to have some kind of porter service. There are no elevators so if you are not on the first floor it is extremely difficult to get your luggage up the stairs even from where the cab drops you off. We were staying their pre cruise and had lots of luggage, the only downfall we experienced. The food was great in the bar area also and the service was exceptional otherwise.

It was a great stay....
When we arrived at Wind Chimes the agent told us that we would be staying at the annex which was right across the street so we didnt mind. I also asked for a double room and received a king. I am not sure if this hotel has doubles, but they could have let me know. Otherwise, the hotel stay was great and the service was excellent also.

Pleasantly Surprised!
When we arrived to check in to the hotel we were upgraded to another hotel across the Street called the Acacia. We were on the second floor and had a balcony. The hotel was VERY nice looking and the hot tub was huge and very clean! The last night we stayed on the first floor and it was a little noisy because of people walking by our room. Also, there was no continental breakfast, which was a little disappointing. But other than that the hotel was great and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to San Juan.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
You should definitely rent a car from Charlies Rental if you can afford it. Its less expensive than Hertz and taxis and allows you to get most out of your stay. Also, try the bioluminescent bays. They are amazing! and hiking inthe rainforest is a must!
