A Wonderful Hotel
The hotel lobby was smaller than on the Internet picture which made it more appealing to me. I had an excellent room overlooking the back block without any noise whatsoever. The bathroom was beautiful, the bed linens were wonderful, the room was spacious and the location was the absolute best. A wonderful upscale department store across the street named Ogilvys was available for the rich and famous to shop in and on St. Catherines Street there were miles of stores for the common man. The subway stop was also a short hike away and various categories of restaurants were all within a block of the hotel. The hotel also had an upscale restaurant and bar which looked great, but I never frequented them since I preferred to eat cheaper on the outside. Wonderful nightclubs ranging from Salsa clubs to beer dives were also a stones throw away along with the Grayline Tour Bus Depot a block away. The Museum of Fine Art was also a block or two away. I would definitely go back to this wonderfully located hotel.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Mikes restaurant, apparently a Montreal chain restaurant on St. Catherines Street, serves good breakfast lunch and dinner for not bad prices, considering the US Dollar is weaker than the Canadian dollar at this time. The ambiance is a bit like a sports bar but the food is very good.

Nice Hotel
Nice hotel. The location is not ideal, a little far from the subway or from the main downtown area. Service is excellent, rooms are clean and comfortable. The lower floors rooms have no view to speak of (facing a parking lot). Overall a good experience but would try another one next time Im in Montreal

A High End destination
Definitely enjoyed my stay here. The staff was helpful and did not have any attitude. If they did not have an answer to a question, they found one. J-Lo stayed in the hotel that weekend so if its good enough for her, its good enough for anyone else! The staff even produced a set of cufflinks for me to borrow when I forgot mine.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
A block away from Crescent street, the tourist district. I suggest cabbing it to St. Laurent, the swankier lounge and restaurant area.

A perfect hotel.
This hotel has set the standard by which I will judge all others. A courteous and attentive staff, clean room, comfortable mattress, in-room safe are just some of its benefits. The location was great. The adjoining restaurant provides gourmet quality.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Took a walking tour that started in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Worth the time to learn a bit about old Montreal.

Very dated, uneven service.
Chose this hotel for the last night of trip because its downtown (I stayed in the Old Port area for the first leg) and I knew a taxi would be available for my very-early-morning departure. What I found was entirely different from what I was led to expect by the luxe descriptions here and on the hotels Web site. The entire hotel is very dated, from the jumbled lobby with blaring music and depressing bar, down to the pink and gray marble and vinyl wallpaper in the (Premium level room) bathroom. We received a notice telling us that the evening turn-down skipped us because we were in the room, and that we should call to have it done. We did, and it wasnt. Only one set of towels for each guest (medium quality, and on the small side). Had to phone for extras so we could have dry ones in the morning. Shower had one of those cheap, one-piece floor pans, and very basic white ceramic tile, yet other surfaces were "luxury" pink marble. Jet tub was nice, and the TV you could watch while bathing was cool. Good bathrobes, but no slippers, and the carpet was not something I wanted to touch with my bare feet. Worst ... our room was across from the elevator, so we had to listen to the whoosh of the elevator shaft all night, EVEN THOUGH I informed the hotel, when I booked, that we had a very early flight the next morning!!! Give this mediocre hotel a miss.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Walk all around the Old Port area, not just the tourist center of it. Nice hotels down there. Take a boat tour on the river, if the weather is good. A good short tour (45 minutes) is the electric boat (I forget its name).

Excellent Location!!!
This is a very classy hotel located in the heart of Montreal downtown. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is excellent. I just loved the location of this hotel which is minutes from a subway stations and also the Saint-Catherine street which is teeming with a lot of brands in shoes, clothes, you name it. Will stay here next time, every time!!
