Excellant Accomodations

Loved the location, it was perfect for getting around New Orleans. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, especially the Concierge. I only had one small complaint. The water for the shower took about 8-10 minutes to get hot on a number of occasions. Big waste of water! I would absolutely go back.

Average

Room was clean and reasonably spacious. Had old style TV, not more recent flat screen type. Wireless internet not available. Have to use cable and $15/day. Got double charged on two items at final checkout - extra day of internet and two days of parking (@ $35/day) when car was only in garage about 9 hours.

I’ll Stay There AGAIN!!

This hotel really made the French Quarter a piece of cake. Sitting right on Canal street you are just across the street from the fun and craziness that it New Orleans, yet you are far enough away that the craziness doesn’t take away from a good night’s sleep. The rooms were very nice and the only complaint is that the water pressure was very low and not real hot, but I guess that is what being on the 29th floor costs. I would do it again next weekend given the opportunity.

Very nice

The hotel was very clean, had 2 great restaurants, several bars and best of all was the location. You could walk to the Aquarium, Cafe DuMonde, the French Quarter and Burbon St. w/in minutes. The street car to the Garden area was also very close and convenient!Service was great and beds very comfortable!

Great Location

This hotel was convenient to the French Quarter, Bourbon St, and the Riverfront. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The concierge and hotel staff was friendly and made great recommendations.

Could be Great

A couple of negatives took away from considering it a great hotel. 1. On arrival we went to the front of the building, but it turns out the valet entrance is in the rear. No one told us. 2. When we got to the room, there was trash in the draw of the desk when I looked for the book of hotel services. Upon Finding there was no book I called down to the front desk. They said they would bring one up. No one ever came. I went to the front desk and they informed me that they didn’t have any and they gave me a zeroxed copy of the room service menu. I complained of the trash and no book and they gave me a voucher for a free breakfast. 3. Dirty refrigerator in the room. 4. Small bathroom. These are really a lot of little details. All in all the stay was good. The hotel facilities are failry modern. There is a wonderful little gym on the 8th floor. Everything is accented with hip, stylish, and tastful art and colors. With a little attention to detail this could be a great hotel.

The hotel is right on the edge of the French Quarter. Walking distance to all the French Quarter attractions, but you can still get away from it all.

As advertised!

The hotel lived up to it’s billing. The staff were quite professional and personable. I’m sure that I’ll be back. Centrally located!

Be sure to take the trolley car to the Garden district, quite an enjoyable tour through New Orleans for $1.25.

What a view!!

The friendly staff, the beauty of the hotel, the wonderful roon (with pillow choices), walking distance to almost anything you want to see was great.

You can walk to the river, the cathederal and for breakfast in just a short time.

Perfect spot for a NOLA trip

Quick walk to the French Quarter; Excellent service from the Bellman who work there; They all wanted to provide recommendations for restaurants and things to see; All of the recommendations they provided were EXCELLENT and great locals spots; It was a perfect place to stay for experiencing New Orleans. Would highly recommend it.

Definitely go to the Carousel Bar for a drink, just a few blocks away; Emeril’s flagship restaurant is also a great place to have authentic New Orleans cuisine, not too far from the hotel

Great Location

The great location made all attractions easy to get to. Will definetle stay here on our next trip

Shula’s restaurant, located within the hotel, served very good food. The portions were so large that our server recommended that my wife and I split the portions which we did and found that provided us with more than adequate serving sizes. Only down side was that it is very expensive. We only ate there once. We found several very good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Great location

I think this location was pretty nice if you want to be close enough to Bourbon St but far enough to be away from the noise. Walking distance to the Casino, French Market, etc.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in

The service was extremely friendly and acoomadating. The room was ideal! Clean, beautiful and fresh. The conseigers were very knowledgable and helpful.

We were so close to everything we wanted to see. The French Quarter, Bourban street and the garden district. We either walked or road the trolley, no need to even rent a car.

Great location; Great staff

Hotel was beautiful. Bed and room were very comfortable. Some inconsistency in room cleaning (no bath mat when we first arrived). Hotel guide was a little out of date (said there was a nail salon and second restaurant - which there was not). Concierge was awesome. Staff were very friendly. Great location.

a beautiful hotel

We went to New Orleans for the first time for my husband’s birthday. The hotel was beautiful, our room was on the 24th floor and had a great view, and the beds are really comfy. The only problem we had was one night we returned to A/C problems, they moved us to another room immediately and compted us a breakfast buffet at Shulas for our trouble, which I thought was very nice.

Most restaurants are creole or cajun, making it difficult if you just want something light,although there are a few American menus uch as Landrys and Jimmy Buffetts Margaritaville. I highly recommend Emerils restaraunt NOLA, it was excellent!

Package flight and hotel with expedia

I was pleasantly surprised when I was booking my recent short business trip to New Orleans. I got an excellent price with JW Marriott as the hotel included. This hotel is centrally located with good facilities and staff.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

The only thing is, do not expect to get a drink in the lobby bar after 10:00 PM as it and all others are closed. I had some buisness associates and we returned after dinner for a drink and ot conclude our ongoing discussions but NO SERVICE at that hour. Otherwise it is a great place to stay.

Great Experience

We had a wonderful stay at the JW Marriott New Orleans. We would go back there again. The staff was especially friendly and welcoming. We would rate our stay and experience a 5 star. The concierge gave us great tips on restaurants and tours. She went out of her way to make our experience exceptional.

Be sure to go to NOLA, one of Emeril’s restaurants in New Orleans. Pricey- but worth every cent.

Not entirely happy

The thermostat in my room was broken. It maintained a 65 degree room, which felt freezing, especially after using the exercise facilities. The maintainance guy they sent to "investigate" adjusted the temperature but did nothing more than I had already done and made no difference. Fortunately there was an extra blanket in the closet. I think the cleaning staff must have said something, because the 3rd day it was fixed. Also, I believe they were remodeling the room above mine. No worked started before 9am, but when it did start, it was really loud.
