“Nice surpirse”

Caribe Hilton Hotel

4 of 5 stars
orange county, ca

My family and i stayed at the hilton caribe in Arpil for 2 nights. I have to say i was really worried when i got this hotel thru priceline becasue the reviews i read very mixed. Let me tell you. I loved this hotel. Ther service was very nice and the rooms very modern and tastefully decorated. They very a little small but that was ok. The bathroom was very nice and good size. Two sinks and a very nice shower. I always love a nice bathroom. One other thing i really liked was the mini refrigerator in the room. What a nice thing to have with 2 little ones. The hotel also has some toys for little kids which was a big plus for us. My kids really loved it. They also have nice shops. The only thing i can say bad was the pools. When we were there, the pool water looked very green. It did not look fresh and clean. No one was using the pools. I think they were aware of this and cleaning the pools. Nice little beach there too. Over all I had a plesant time and I would for sure go back to this hotel if i ever go to puerto rico again.

“Fabulous Old School Glam Beach Hotel”

Caribe Hilton Hotel

We had an altogether too brief day and a half at the Caribe, and a fabulous dinner at the very romantic Lemongrass there. The beach is small, but the water and views are perfect. We stayed at Copamarina earlier in the week and I preferred the beach at the Caribe. The open air lobby, the hammocks by the beach, and the view of the old city wall are a few of the many nice details to the architecture and landscaping. It was old-school, 1950s hotel glamour. I really enjoyed it. One caveat--we splurged on a villa and really, the hotel grounds are so nice its not worth the money to be in a plush but surprisingly small room.

“Nice hotel”

Caribe Hilton Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Mckinney, TX

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton from 5/14-5/18 and loved our time here. We usually take a nice vacation once a year, and since we let our passports expire, we thought we should try Puerto Rico. The location of the resort was ok, right in the middle of everything, and an easy cab ride to Old San Juan, and Isla Verde. I would have to say that is the only downside of the property, is that you have to take a bus or cab and can't really walk to anywhere that is close. I highly recommend the Condado Area.. lots of places to eat outside the hotel (Danny's Pizza was awesome) and it's close to a couple of casino's. We ate at Morton's one night, great food, nice atmosphere, what you would expect from a nice steakhouse. We did however eat at the Parrot Club in old San Juan two nights. It was one the best places I have ever eaten, hands down. I recommend getting only appetizers and ordering a few, they were all outstanding! Don't forget desert also, the banana spring rolls were amazing! OK, be sure to see the forts. Both are really awesome if you like history. As for the rest of the hotel, lobby, pool, restaraunts were all first class and we enjoyed the pool bar immensly. Hiram and Jose will take good care of you if you take care of them. The room was a little "Dumpy" for being a Hilton, but I know the place is old. All in all, I would defintely recommend the hotel. Everything people said about prices are true, but if you are prepared, it's no big deal. It's not Mexico. Enjoy!

“Love this place”

Got a good price from Priceline. Upon check-in, a very nice guy at frontdesk gave me a great room in the HH tower where complimentary breakfast and all day long snacks + fruits + beverages are served. You need to have a HH membership in order to get all these.

Nice pools but the beach is not a great one for swimming. A small fort in located in the hotel but it was closed for renovation during my stay.

Room is nice, clean, big and with great view of the ocean and city. Staff very friendly and helpful.

“Loved the Caribe Hilton”

Caribe Hilton Hotel

May 20, 2008
4/4 found this review helpful

Stayed this past weekend at the Caribe Hilton and absolutely loved it. Arrived around 2 PM but was advised that the room wasn't ready yet. The woman at the front desk advised that the standard check-in time is 4 PM but gave me a card with a phone number to call to find out if the room may be ready sooner. Sat down in the lobby and within 10 minutes one of the managers came over, saw the card, took it, said he would check for other available rooms, and came back with 2 card keys and directions on how to get to the room. That is what I call service and paying attention to detail as well as to your customer. Was placed in the Main Hotel. The room and the hallway had been renovated but could tell there had been some water damage in the room. No mold or stale smells though. Bathroom had some upgrades but could use some more work to give it a more polished modern look. However, it was clean and nice size and after a day some of the older features had developed a certain charm. No complaints on the room, everything up to date (minus the LCD TV), extremely comfortable bed, balcony with table and two chairs, and refrigerator (a microwave would have been nice too). Ate at Palmeras twice and had the buffet. The restaurants like most hotel restaurants are pricey but the food was good. For those without a rental car, there is a subway and a ice cream shop at the end of the block. Went there a couple of times to help offset the more costly meals. Also, took a cab to San Juan ($22 round trip) for sightseeing and to try some other restaurants (about a 10 minute ride there and 15 minute ride back due to the increased traffic). The recreational areas of the hotel were truly spectacular. From the tranquil garden area to the pool and beach areas. The hammocks and the fish feeding pier were nice extras. Always plenty of staff in the pool area adding chairs as needed and keeping things maintained. I will definitely be back!
