I last visited Parque Papagayo during April, 2006 and very much enjoyed the walk through the park, time spent amongst the families, the green grass and nice lagoons where people were in small boats enjoying themselves. The park is a welcome oasis, a surprise to many people who think Acapulco's just all about beaches. The park is conveniently located almost in the middle of Acapulco along Costera Miguel Aleman - across the street from the beach referred to as "Playa Papagayo."
There are various attractions within the park, some of which are not well maintained, though - mostly rides for small children. The lack of the attractions at the moment doesn't seem to have deterred the large number of families from visiting, though. In the mornings people can be found jogging, in the afternoon people cut-through the park as they make their way from the beach area to the residential/business area above the park near Avenida Cuauhtemoc.
I think most visitors will be favorabily impressed - as I am - with the niceness and tranquility of Parque Papagayo.
