This is a remarkable find. We stayed in another "Trip Advisor" top rated B&B just outside Victoria for three nights and then came here for three. I just wonder why I didn't just book this one and had done with it! There was no contest between the two - Abbeymooore is the most relaxing, unpretentious and comfortable guest house you could wish to stay in...where to start...that hasn't already been said??
Well Ann and Ian certainly understand customer service. We arrived with a bottle of wine we had bought a previous day...Ann asked us if we would like it chilled in our room. We arrived back from dinner at 9.30 to find it chilled and in an ice bucket in our room ready for a nightcap! Now that is what I call service. When Ian and Ann recommended a dinner location we had an excellent meal, when we chose one it was not so good. They have up to the minute knowledge and we should have paid attention every night!
The rooms are very pleasant - we had the master which was great with a balcony and plenty of room. We saw most of the first floor rooms and would have been happy in any of them.
Breakfast was great, soft drinks and snacks at all hours much appreciated.
Th location is brilliant. We did not drive for three days- we walked into town and got a taxi back - just $10 and much less hassle than parking in a busy city centre on Canada Day weekend with the Tall Ships in town. On the way we saw the governors gardens, the Andy Warhol exhibition - what more could you ask.
So that's about it - for good down to earth hospitality , food and location, without pretentiousness this is the place!!
