I have lived in Montreal for 2 years so I would consider myself as someone who knows Montreal quite well. The location is great - right downtown on Rene Levesque and Guy, which is close to St Catherine for shopping and Crescent for nightlife. The breakfast is phenomenal! The
rooms are incredibly cute and the home-made cookies is a nice touch. The budget rooms' bathrooms are fairly tiny but go for the deluxe rooms or suite as it is still cheaper than a regular $200/night hotel. I can't wait to go there with a big group of people and renting
the apartments! It is absolutely great for the value. Montreal is a fairly safe city to walk around, even in the wee hours in the morning so there is no problem getting back to the hotel at night. I recommend
this to all of my friends when they ask me where they should stay in Montreal.

The last time we were in Montreal, my husband proposed. We were looking to rekindle that magic by finding a lodging that would greatly add to our vacation. Les Bons Matins was exactly what we were looking for! Located on a charming street only a few blocks away from the heart of the city, we stayed in room 703, which was beautifully decorated; exposed brick wall, charming decorations, and plenty of privacy, we were thrilled with the entire experience. The minute we arrived, we were greeted by a charming man named Alex who was quick to offer suggestions for our time in the city. Free beverages and cookies were on hand, and we were free to use their Internet services. Each morning we were treated to a wonderful breakfast, which not only included gourmet cheeses, pastries, and fresh fruits, but made to order eggs and coffee bar. We truly felt like royalty throughout our stay, and highly recommend Les Bon Matins.

My wife and I stayed over the September 14th weekend in suite 601. The room was very nice, exactly what was shown on the website. The cookie jar (filled with home made cookies) was outside our room.

The staff (all of them we spoke with) were great, with plenty of information about how to get to various places. The location of the hotel is fantastic, you can literally throw a rock out the front door and hit the subway station it is so close. Easily the best way to get around Montreal.

The breakfasts were simply awesome as was the wait staff. The second day we were there there was a table of very ill mannered guests who were berating the staff. The girls handled the situation with grace and poise.

This will be our new home when visiting Montreal.

The shining star in the whole Petite Auberge Les Bons Matins is the breakfast. The location is terrific. The room is okay. The front desk is okay.

The breakfast is served with a smile. The food is terrific and the staff is attentive. It's a terrific way to start everyone morning in Montreal. The room was spacious and clean, however the furniture was clearly IKEA, old IKEA to be more specific. Our couch was ripped, the coffee table was fragile, one handle on the dresser was broken, the bathroom had a tricky faucet, and the television, VCR, and tape deck were dated and not much more than in the way. The counter staff was pleasant and willing to help, but only the bald guy and the effeminate fellow knew anything about Montreal.

All of this would have been tolerable if we hadn't paid such a premium to stay.
