“Loudest Hotel Ever”

If you're in Dublin to party, this is a great hotel. But if it's your last night in Ireland and just want a good night's sleep before catching an early flight home, don't stay here!!!

Our room was on the second floor, two flights up from the ground floor bar, but still we could hear the bar noise clearly. From 5:30pm to 7:30pm, when we tried to nap before dinner, we could hear an American-style piano bar with very enthusiastic patrons, as well as instruments and stomping from what must have been the free early Irish music/dancing show.

After the dinner show, we could hear the lively club until about 3am.

At 5am, some very loud guests returned to their rooms on our floor and proceeded to shout back and forth for 15 minutes.

It was too bad I couldn't join in on the fun that night. If that's not what you're looking for in a Dublin hotel either, be warned! BTW, I had stayed at a Temple Bar hotel 2 weeks earlier with no noise problems at all.

PS - The food at the dinner show was horrible. Catch the free show and eat somewhere else.

“Has the Irish party atmosphere!”

Arlington Hotel

Jul 1, 2008

Stayed at the Arlington for a long weekend in a large group. You have to think of the Arlington as an extremely large pub with a lot of hotel rooms, then you will see that the place is all about.

The bar is one of the largest I have ever seen and i don't think it has changed in the last 5 years at least. Lots of seating and a stage where they have traditional irish dancing. An area at the top where they serve traditional food, steak pie, etc..... It gets very busy and at 11.30pm, the music stops and the club in the basement opens. It is not glamorous by any means. This stays open until 4am. If you're a resident, entry is free. Food is good.

Lobby, suits of armour, etc..., the hotel pictures are accurate.

Rooms, these are a real surprise, they are clean and well maintained. Water pressure was low in the shower, and the TV wasn't tuned properly, but considering the location, I was not surprised. If you have a room near the lift, I would ask to be moved as there are vending machines for soft drinks and people use them all night.

Location, with it being on the opposite side of the river from the Temple Bar area, it is close by.

If you're a large group or a couple wanting a lively atmosphere, you can't go wrong with the Arlington. If you want a romantic weekend, have kids with you or on business, go elsewhere, as you will hate it.

“Great Location, Great Hotel”

This hotel was great. The decor in the reception area is quirky. There is a bar attached to the hotel which has live entertainment every night, including Irish bands and dancing.

The room itself was clean and tidy and I can not fault it. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. The bathroom was clean with a good shower in it.

Breakfast good, a full Irish breakfast, which is served in the bar area.

The staff were pleasent and helpful. I would reccomend this hotel. It's location is fantastic, very central for everything. I can not think of anything negative to say about it.
