“Good value for money near Dublin City Centre and great transport access”

This is a great place to stay for value for money and ease of access to city center. Local Bus stop is at front door or easy walking to city centre. Desk is very helpful for connections and directions. Guest internet in lobby. Great staff in dining room and great food. Stayed here 2 nights on a 3 week tour of IE and UK. Clean, basic, comfortable room.

“Comfy, clean & child-friendly”

To find a child-friendly place was our first priority when we looked into Dublin Hotels. And it seemed next to impossible.

Charleville Lodge was very impressive from the first moment I conntacted them, helping me to choose the right room size for all 4 of us (our kids are 3 yrs and 11 mths old). We had a Superior Twin & Double which left plenty of space for a cot (provided by Lodge). It was a renovated room and very nice and clean and even left a little space for the kids to play. We stayed 2 nights.
First I was concerned that the road would make these 2 nights very noisy but we had a room facing the parking area and it was nice and quiet.

The kids were welcome to play with their toys in the very nice and spacious guest lounge before dinner time.

The only area which could use some improvement would be the breakfast situation. The room is very nice, but cramped with tables and the personnel was very friendly but obviously not enough to deal with every one in a fast manner. Small kids are not very patient, especially when hungry. But the breakfast was very good and plenty! Wether one fancies the warm Irish Breakfast or just Toast or cereal.

The area looked a bit "dodgy" at first but we ended up taking quite few walks to the close grocery stores and restaurants. The Bus Stop is so close by and downtown so quick to reach. If we would come back to Dublin we'd definitly stay at Charleville Lodge again.

“Exceeded my expectations”

Charleville Lodge

Westminster, Maryland

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Charleville Lodge for four nights in June 2008 (getting a book-for-four-nights, pay-for-three deal that really made the 130 euro/night price worthwhile), and it was wonderful! For a European hotel, especially, the room was extremely spacious (the equivalent of a double room at an American hotel, definitely) and had a fairly large bathroom and shower ensuite. It was also in a great location -- 5 minutes away from the city center by the #10 bus, which picks you up and drops you off literally right in front of the hotel. Since it was removed from the city center, it was in the quiet and comfortable suburb-type area of Phibsborough -- very calm, and a fifteen minutes walk from Phoenix Park. We had a lovely stay, and we'd absolutely visit again!

“Pleasantly suprised!”

My husband & stayed overnight whilst attending the Celine Dion concert. Great to be able to walk to the venue (Croke Park) in approx 20mins. Was a bit apprehensive, but pleasantly suprised with this accommodation, We were in a Superior Double, tastefully decorated, which had both a double & single bed, tv, fan (which was great due to the suprise warm weather) tea & coffee making facilities available in the hallway (only fault of this is that cups hadn't been washed when we returned from concert!) and would have loved tea! Lovely georgian house conveniently located for Mater hospital, Croke park & Phoenix Park, also on good bus route. Only downside maybe, is that there seemed to be only two girls to serve and clear up after breakfast, and the place seemed to be full. they couldn't quite keep the tables cleared and set again fast enough. Also my husband got his breakfast a good 5-10mins before i did?! Maybe this was due to crowds staying from concert night before, but service needs to be a bit quicker in that area. Towels provided but dont forget facecloths, toothpaste. Secure parking provided. All in all though would return if had any business in that part of Dublin again.
