“Fantastic views and location”

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of March in a 2 bedroom harbour view suite. We were on the 19th floor and the views are stunning of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
The apartment is well laid out with the bedrooms set back along a corridor before you reach the living/dining area and the spectacular view. The kitchen is small but adequate though with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, you are unlikely to do much cooking. The bedrooms were very quiet, despite the busy Cahill Expressway in front of the building. The bathrooms were both fine with the en suite off the main bedroom having both a bath and a separate shower. The apartment is spacious enough for those of us suffering jet lag to get up at 430am and not disturb those still sleeping.
We enjoyed the swimming pool on the 23rd floor as well as the gym on the same level.
We did not eat in the restaurant and frankly, it is much much cheaper to eat out locally for breakfast. We bought lots of deli goodies at David Jones' food hall and there is a good Bottle Shop (off licence) a short distance a way in George Street.
The furnishings are not lavish as some have noted and if you are not booking a room with a harbour view I am not sure it is worth the cost.
We had free valet parking and we found the reception staff helpful.
Our children want us to stay there again when we next return to Sydney.

“5 star accommodation - a let down”

Quay West Suites Sydney

Was looking forward to staying at this 5star hotel. Had booked a 2 bedroom suite for 4 adults and a 1 bedroom suite for my elderly parents. The view from our suite was spectacular, however the general cleanliness of both suites were very dissappointing. eg. Grubby dining chairs, glassware needed cleaning before using. Pool was filthy. Smelly bathroom, large brown stains in grout around toilet, shower didn't drain properly, hence overflowed onto floor. Took ages to drain away. Worn and stained carpet. Have stayed in 5 star accommoation before and this was no where near it. Would not recommend this place.

Quay West is just beautiful. My husband and i along with our 2 boys spent Easter there. It is a great location and the Teppanyaki just up the street is one of the best i have eaten.

The pool is magnificent the kids loved it. The room was clean with ample space. Room service was great. Valet parking was great. Overall we had a fantastic experience and i would highly recommend Quay West Suites.

“What a view!”

Quay West Suites Sydney

I just recently returned from a 2 week vacation to Australia. We booked thru Azumano Travel, Portland, OR (they are great!!). I usually do all the planning myself but there were 9 of us and I needed help. We chose the Quay West Suites for its location and availability for 4 rooms. We were not planning on renting a car and wanted to be near the transportation hub. Only a short walk to a ferry, the busses or the trains. We spent 5 nights here.

The views from all of our rooms were wonderful. I can't say enough. I had a room for 3 people (and we had 3 one bedroom rooms) and had the exact view I found when browsing the online information. We looked out over Sydney Harbor, Harbor Bridge and the Opera House. We had a full kitchen, laundry in room and lots of space (we had a 2 bedroom suite) with two bathrooms.

The rooms were clean and well stocked. The carpet was a little worn but no smoke smells or other irritants. The staff was always available to answer questions and help in any way. No waits!

There is a restaurant downstairs (Harrington) that we tried twice for breakfast. It was less than impressive. The first breakfast we had there was "just okay". The 2nd day my omelette was not completely done in the middle. There were a few issues from others in the party. We found everything in Sydney to be very expensive. There was a restaurant across the street called "Jacksons". Great food and better prices. Their staff was friendly and fun!! We ate there several times but also found many other worthy places to eat.

I would definitely consider staying here again. As an aside..we were limited as to when we could go. There are less people at this time of the year but there can be lots of rain. Warm but wet!

“This is definitely the place to be.”

We have just read the previous extensive review and every word is correct. We were amazed by the view from our 20th floor suite - it seemed like a four day entertainment that had been put on for us with the bridge, opera house, the harbour and the Rocks area in full and splendid view. The suite was just like a home with everything that we needed and the space...................amazing!
Melanie, Graham and Melissa could not have been more helpful from the moment we arrived to when we left.
Also, it is so convenient with George St, Circular Quay and the main shops just a few minutes away.
Breakfast was excellent and although we had planned to try other places, after the first day, we only wanted to breakfast there. We were truly sorry to leave after our 4 days and look forward to going back as soon as possible.
